I **think** this is the place where we got donuts in the morning. If so, the donuts were delicious! They were big too.

Great food, speedy service. Must make a reservation. I had the grilled chicken southwestern salad. Yummy queso fesca, guac and fresh corn.

Thank Sue D

“Convenient, Complacent, Comfort Food”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

It is close to many theaters, so it is no surprise it is overbusy at 6:30 and near empty at 7:30, but it does fill up again. Just no that when going there.
Food trends to the Italian-American of pasta, steaks, chickens, all a la carte. Food is reliable but, like menu, unexciting. I had the veal with wild mushroom and the veal was tender, but the mushrooms were not wild. My companion had the spinach gnocchi, which were fine but rich. If i was in the area, it works but I would not make a trip there. The bread basket offered variety but none impressed, too sweet cornbread, greasy white puff rolls with no flavor. One really good bread would be better than all this
Problem?? Service went downhill during our evening. We arrived just as theater crowd left, and our waitress started out friendly but after taking our food order, she disappeared. the bus boy brought our food, checked on us, asked about coffee, etc....the waitress didn't show until she brought the bill and took 10 mins to come back for the cards, about 8:25 pm. Then we waited and waited and waited....finally our checks came back. My companion had bought the cocktails and her card was swiped at 8:35, it was 9:12 before it was returned to us. My card was swiped and the waitress showed total lack of attention again since she had accepted a $50 gift card but never bothered to apply it to the check/bill. So after waiting almost an hour, we still had to wait to get it done right. Definitely not impressed with service and definitely ended the night on a down note.
Who knows, maybe she decided since we only ordered a main course we were not worth her time. The bill says at the bottom the suggested percentages....um....you have to earn that 20% if you want to get it.
If I had not had the gift card, i would choose another place to eat downtown. there are far better options that are happy to serve customers.

“Perfect Location leading to complacency with food and service?”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

On a rainy night this was the perfect place to have dinner before a show at the Goodman Theatre. Servers were obviously busy getting patrons fed and off to their show...but not very gracious in the process. A bread basket (very full but not the most flavourfull) appeared part way into the first course. The pasta dish was good but lacked variety - a few decorative veggies would have improved the appearance. Wasn't even asked if I would have liked dessert, and a coffee was only available after flagging down the server.
