If you've eaten a lot of sushi, you'll probably agree that some experiences are better than others, based on freshness and several other factors. Naniwa serves a very high quality of fish more frequently than any other place I've been.
Add to this they also serve the finest appetizer I know - pan seared scallops, the only mandatory item on my "Last Supper" menu. It's preposterous how good this dish tastes. I'm something like 12 out of 12 encouraging friends to share this with me. They LOVE it and almost always order a second one!!!
Everyone has a favorite sushi joint. I've arranged extended layovers at O'Hare to go here.
Bob San (sister restaurant) has a better vibe if you are willing to travel to Wicker Park; same menu.
