Wanted a good Italian restaurant in Chicago, and this filled the bill. Not exceptional, but very good food and reasonably good service - again, not outstanding. Risotto was excellent, steak fair. A quiet spot, so a great choice for those that dislike the din that's prevalent many spots.

Meet my niece and her husband for dinner while we were in Chicago. Both work in Chicago and suggested we dine here. Good call!! The service was exceptional with a fine almost exclusively Italian wine list. We selected a couple antipasti and enjoy them- capaccio, mozzarella fresche e pomodori- all great. The secondi piatti were well prepared and with a good variety of options. The manager came over a couple times to inquire how we were doing and showed particular interest in making sure our wine selection was what we wanted. It was. Coco Pazzo is definitely a redo when I return to Chicago. It lost a bit in price and portion size. But, that being said, I still would go there again. Quality trumps quantity everytime.

Coco Pazzo Cafe: an Italian restaurant on N Saint Clair Street, Chicago was recommended and booked by the Concierge at our hotel for an after-theater (sic) dinner at 9.45 p.m. The show, The Australian Bee Gees Story at the Broadway Theater was fantastic - unlike the dinner served up by Coco Pazzo.
They really shouldn't have taken the booking if they weren't prepared to look after us properly at this time. They were obviously coming to the end of their shift and couldn't wait to get us in, seated, served and thrown out poste haste!
The food was also very poor - my ravioli was luke warm, looked tired and was boring. My wife's chicken tasted of anything but chicken, although it was foul it tasted like it had been fed on fish meal during its unfortunate life in some egg-laying battery. She couldn't eat it and they fortunately didn't charge for it. We left disappointed and hungry - and a little angry. Not recommended at this time.

Do the antipasti, it's a great conversation/relaxation start to a wonderful continuance. Try the specials. Our pasta was wonderful, as were the second courses. Wait staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, but not overbearing.

If you are looking for authentic Northern Italian cuisine, than Coco Pazzo is the restaurant for you. The food is very similar to what someone would find on a menu in Florence, Italy and tastes just as good.
