A short walk from our hotel, Wildfire promised much and delivered across the board. Music forms a lovely backdrop to the sounds of happy diners conversing. Black and white photographs decorate the walls and are in use with the ambiance of laid back style.

We were seated at a booth and our server ran through the specials of the day and checked f we had any questions. We were assured that we didn't need to rush - whenever we were ready was fine by her. I ordered a blood orange Cosmo (so addictive - sweet and beautifully presented with a slice of orange on the rim) while hubby had our favourite Chicago beer Fat Tyre (offered with or without a glass) which arrived quickly.

We shared an entree of crispy calamari that was juicy and tender, with a light deep fried batter, served with lemon, tomato sauce and ranch dressing. The serving was huge and easily satisfied us both.

Hubby ordered the Sunday special, a turkey dinner - lean turkey served with stuffing, gravy and creamy mashed potato. I had a petite fillet steak (where petite equalled a normal serving in my books) cooked perfectly to the medium request. It had a well seasoned crust and along with a separately ordered double stuffed potato (again giant in size) and roasted mushroom caps proved too much for me to finish. Our server kept touch with us throughout the meal without intruding on our conversation or enjoyment of the ambiance. The restaurant manager moved efficiently through the dining room and everything worked like a well oiled machine.

Our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs and the server smoothly took the leftover food and returned them in a take out bag without fuss. We were treated to a visual feast of the available sweets, including half sizes, on a tray. As much as I wanted to try the peach and raspberry pie with vanilla ice cream, I was so stuffed that I sadly had to say no.

From the staff to the food, this was one of our most memorable meals while on holiday in the US. A spur of the moment choice turned out much better than we could have expected.

Was told to go here by friends. Had a nice table and excellent waiter who really did a great job taking care of us. Started with their martini sampler which was great and then had the lobster topped shrimp appetizer which was very tasty. Wife had a terrific Wildorf salad which was huge and I had the horseradish encrusted filet (without the bacon) which was memorable. the entire place had a great atmosphere and I would recommend it to families and couples. in fact, in the adjacent booth, the man proposed to his significant other and the entire restaurant got all sentimental!

Went here after recommendation from Tim from Bobby's Bike Hire and it turned out to be a good call. The four of us (me, wife and 16 & 10 year old daughters) were seated immediately, despite turning up early for our booking. Unfortunately, the table was right in front of the open kitchen and sandwiched between two large groups -- the heat from the kitchen wood fire and the loud noise from all round was slightly uncomfortable.

However, our server noticed this and asked if we'd like to move. He found us a booth at the side of the restaurant, where things were much improved. I had the bacon-wrapped scallops, which were delicious, followed by a succulent and tasty porterhouse steak. The steaks my family had were very well received too. Sides were excellent, especially the mash. We shared some desserts, which were also very good.

In summary, the food lived up to the restaurant's reputation (and prices are not bad either) but ask for a side, rear or booth table if you want to have a conversation.

My wife and I made reservations at Wildfire because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. As we learned from the reviews we requested a booth on the wall of the resaurant. We're glad we did because it was really noisy in the center of the restaurant. There seemed to be a lot of wedding parites with lots of laughing and having fun. The food was really good. However, our timing was bad so the service was lacking. Our booth was located next to a large booth with 3 adults and 4 high maintenance children so our server spent a considerable time trying to take care of their needs. On the other side of us there was an obvious VIP who had 2-3 staff waiting on them constantly. .As a result we don't feel like we got much service. Some of the wedding parties started to get really loud so we decided to call it a night.
