I've had Ethiopian a few times and this was by far the best tasting. We ordered 3 different meats and 3 different sides to share between 3 people - definitely recommend this approach so you can share and taste different flavors. The servers were all very helpful and polite and my friends and I really enjoyed the band playing Brazilian Jazz

We came here last night for a family dinner to celebrate a significant birthday and anniversary. We enjoyed the food tremendously, ordering two appetizers (one would have been enough for the five of us, given that we had a large meal afterward) and five entrees, which we shared on the large injara bread.

The food was delicious, and it's possible, I think, to order only four entrees for five people, but everything is very, very good, and it's one of those instances where more does, indeed, seem better than less! We had the chicken and egg (national dish of Ethiopia), lamb, beef, lentils, split peas, beets, red cabbage--all delicious. The service was un-rushed, very nice and helpful--and mostly attentive. We had bread pudding for dessert (one to snack on for the five of us), and it was very nice.

The restaurant can be somewhat pricey, as things do add up; but this is a completely worthwhile dining experience, whether for couples or a family of every age group.

We had never eaten Ethiopian food and Jenny, our server, was a perfect guide. No meat eaters in our group but the fish was exceptional. There was a 4 piece jazz group that added the perfect element without being overpowering. The price was absolutely reasonable, cocktails were inventive. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area.

We were in Chicago for a few days and wanted something a bit different, so I scoured TripAdvisor for Ethiopian food, as I hadn't had it in years. Ras Dashen had good reviews and was nearby. We had a fantastic meal and the atmosphere was great, with live music. We'd definitely go back if we're back in Chicago.
