“Cool Spot, Good Food”
Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

I really enjoy lunch or dinner here.
The location in the heart of River North cannot be beat and the combination of Fabio Vivani and DineAmic group (Public House, Bull & Bear) really know how to put a space together.

It hasn't been very easy for me to get a reservations on short notice here because it's so new and people sweat Fabio hard, but there is a large amount of first come, first served seating both inside and outside.

Alternatively the play is to put your name in at 6 on Saturday, have drinks at one of the 267 bars around the corner and come back when your table is ready at 8.

If you have some flexibility during your trip or live in the city, try it for lunch. It's no hassle getting in and their lunch and dinner menus are the same.

“So convenient and so very very good!”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

After a huge day of christmas shopping, siena tavern was perfect. A quick shower, cute dress and rocking heels and I fit right in with a hip crowd that was fun not snooty. The atmosphere was great.
Large bar area with a nice wine selection and some tasty signature cocktails.
Dinner was spectacular... grilled octopus with little slivers of just crispy potato medalians. AMAZING. My entrée was short rib ravioli. Luscious and beefy, just what I was craving! A little salted caramel gelato for dessert was perfect.
The waitress was perfect and the service just impeccable - fresh silverware with each course, dishes cleared promptly and food was delivered by friendly servers. We actually contemplated going back for brunch today.
The menu is large enough to offer ample variety but not overwhelming. At least 6 more entrees I wanted to try.
I will be back!

Went for my birthday, and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing. Service and atmosphere were perfect. The wine list is pretty extensive.

“Warm respite on a frigid evening”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

I had dinner at Siena with a couple of friends on a recent bitterly cold winter evening. Although the restaurant is not fitted out with fireplaces and other obvious accoutrement of ski lodge chic, it was a welcoming and warm space regardless. We opted to stay at the bar for dinner rather than journey to the dining room...guess we were not ready to rouse our chilly bones?
We had a great bar tender/waitress and she proved equally adept at making recommendations from their extensive wine list [and other liquors] as she was with the delights to be found in the dinner menu. We all chose either pasta or fish for our entrees, started with stone crab claws and ended with gelato [by this time we were evidently warm enough to consider a cold dessert?]. All selections were beautifully plated and delicious. I don't think Siena is a major step above other like establishments in the Hubbard/Kinzie section of Chicago, but there are very good at what they do and an evening spent here will fulfill you expectations.
