Marianos upstairs has a myriad of food choices with a sushi bar, a hot food bar with different regions featured daily, a basically anything you can think of salad bar (I like everything except the chicken doesn't always look great) , fresh made pizza (10 minutes- get the prosciutto and arugula) or hot sandwiches to order and best of all Gelato mini's for $1 each. Eat inside when it's cold (overtaken at noon by employees of BC/BS and AON) or outside on their deck where last summer they had a 3 piece jazz band randomly about twice a week and a tall pour wine by the glass for $5. In the summer they also do box dinners in the $6-$10/person range to take over to the Millennium park concerts which are right across the street. Also for the park there are 22,000 bottles of wine downstairs (or so the guy said and given the size I believe him) to choose from and upstairs all the cheese a girl could eat. This is great food at great prices. Hardest thing is to find it...it's just East of BC/BS on the back side of the tall green glass condo --340 E Randolph walk between the buildings and there is a deck with Maison (a wonderful upscale restaurant) on the left and Marianos on the right . The address of 333 E Benton is the downstairs entrance from the North side of the building. But coming from Millennium you want to come in the South upstairs entrance. Five stars for the great value, freshness, variety and nice staff, not the ambiance but hey you can also do your weekly shopping-- but if you want to pick up something for Millennium or have an inexpensive place to feed a family with divergent tastes this is it -- it's how 'fast food' should be. Best thing of all, again, is Gelato mini's for $1 and if your like me you'll combine the flavors --chocolate & pomegranate is best!
