This hotel is new and it is GREAT!! It is right in River North close to so many attractions and restaurants. Our room was very nice and pretty much brand new. This was our first time at this property and most certainly will not be our last!!! The only drawback is that the parking is a bit excessive

Thank you for sharing your experience regarding your first time at the Hyatt Place Chicago River North. Being so close to many of the biggest draws of the city does have advantages, and we have a very affordable and accessible public transit system, a great alternative to driving. Our parking prices are consistent with the local market, and there are off-site options available (but at a distance). We appreciate your kind review, and look forward to having you as our guest in the near future.

Kindly,

Josh Schreib

We are fans of Hyatt Place and were thrilled when one opened in this great location in Chicago. While understandably more expensive than other Hyatt Place properties, it is still a good value for the neighborhood. It's a nice, new clean Hyatt Place with the standard Hyatt Place amenities. I will say that the staff on our visit weren't not as professional as we've experienced at other Hyatt Place properties, but they were fine. If it's a weekend and you're counting on the free breakfast . . . be warned. It's an absolute zoo and will take you a long time to get through the line and eat. Because it's Chicago, there are probably several young people staying in one room, and they all come down for the breakfast. We had planned to eat elsewhere, but if we hadn't I would been unhappy with the situation.

We hate to disappoint our Hyatt Place fans, and I feel as though we could have made a more professional impression upon you during your recent visit. I apologize for the lapse in service, and assure you that we will use your feedback to help coach our staff in projecting a friendly but professional demeanor. As for our AM Skillet's popularity, we will look for opportunities to make the experience more fluid while maintaining quality. Thank you for being a fan, and our guest.

I thought this hotel was great - it exceeded my expectations - and was (particularly at the price point) superior to my stay at the Park Hyatt, Chicago. Friendly, smiling and helpful staff. Spacious. comfortable, spotlessly clean bedroom complete with a view and coffee machine (latter sadly missing at the PH!). Efficient check in and check out, bill correct (unlike the PH). Impressive breakfast buffet, good location for a number of restaurants. I would readily return which is the highest accolade I can award!

You know exactly what to expect at a Hyatt Place - just like a Big Mac around the world - they are predictable. However unlike a Big Mac they are good quality and won't make you sick. Hyatt has the recipe down, great service, comfy beds, better than most breakfast quality. Only thing I can say about this location is it's location - a haul to the convention center. And I'm not sure if it's normally $$$, but plan to pay about twice as much as most Hyatt Place locations.

At Hyatt Place we enjoy serving up a healthy portion of quality to our guests, and I am pleased that we delivered upon your expectations. Our rates are driven by demand, and perhaps during your visit there was a conference or trade show in the city. I enjoyed reading your clever and creative review, as I am sure other TripAdvisor members will.

Very clean and comfortable hotel on the north side. Beds were very comfortable. Others mentioned the fire station nearby but we only heard it once during the night. They do provide ear plugs on the nightstands! I especially liked the small sitting area seperated from the beds by a short wall divider. Not a suite by any means, but a nice place to sit in your room and not have to sit on the beds! Could still put your feet up and watch TV from this area. Well laid out. Also appreciated being able to lock the fan on high overnight. It helped to drown out some of the city noises. The window shade blocked out the light completely. The window also opens an inch or two for fresh air! I thought $199/night for a Sunday night in October was too high, though.
