We are fans of Hyatt Place and were thrilled when one opened in this great location in Chicago. While understandably more expensive than other Hyatt Place properties, it is still a good value for the neighborhood. It's a nice, new clean Hyatt Place with the standard Hyatt Place amenities. I will say that the staff on our visit weren't not as professional as we've experienced at other Hyatt Place properties, but they were fine. If it's a weekend and you're counting on the free breakfast . . . be warned. It's an absolute zoo and will take you a long time to get through the line and eat. Because it's Chicago, there are probably several young people staying in one room, and they all come down for the breakfast. We had planned to eat elsewhere, but if we hadn't I would been unhappy with the situation.

We hate to disappoint our Hyatt Place fans, and I feel as though we could have made a more professional impression upon you during your recent visit. I apologize for the lapse in service, and assure you that we will use your feedback to help coach our staff in projecting a friendly but professional demeanor. As for our AM Skillet's popularity, we will look for opportunities to make the experience more fluid while maintaining quality. Thank you for being a fan, and our guest.

I thought this hotel was great - it exceeded my expectations - and was (particularly at the price point) superior to my stay at the Park Hyatt, Chicago. Friendly, smiling and helpful staff. Spacious. comfortable, spotlessly clean bedroom complete with a view and coffee machine (latter sadly missing at the PH!). Efficient check in and check out, bill correct (unlike the PH). Impressive breakfast buffet, good location for a number of restaurants. I would readily return which is the highest accolade I can award!

You know exactly what to expect at a Hyatt Place - just like a Big Mac around the world - they are predictable. However unlike a Big Mac they are good quality and won't make you sick. Hyatt has the recipe down, great service, comfy beds, better than most breakfast quality. Only thing I can say about this location is it's location - a haul to the convention center. And I'm not sure if it's normally $$$, but plan to pay about twice as much as most Hyatt Place locations.

At Hyatt Place we enjoy serving up a healthy portion of quality to our guests, and I am pleased that we delivered upon your expectations. Our rates are driven by demand, and perhaps during your visit there was a conference or trade show in the city. I enjoyed reading your clever and creative review, as I am sure other TripAdvisor members will.

With a side of thanks,

Very clean and comfortable hotel on the north side. Beds were very comfortable. Others mentioned the fire station nearby but we only heard it once during the night. They do provide ear plugs on the nightstands! I especially liked the small sitting area seperated from the beds by a short wall divider. Not a suite by any means, but a nice place to sit in your room and not have to sit on the beds! Could still put your feet up and watch TV from this area. Well laid out. Also appreciated being able to lock the fan on high overnight. It helped to drown out some of the city noises. The window shade blocked out the light completely. The window also opens an inch or two for fresh air! I thought $199/night for a Sunday night in October was too high, though.

This is a very good hotel. Reasonable buffet breakfast and very well located.
The only problem could be that is right beside a fire station. The night I stayed there, there was no activity. But I guess it could be a problem to sleep with fire pumps sirens. Pick a room at a high floor just in case!

My wife loved this place. We don't get out much but this 3 days was worth it. The rooms were clean. Really really clean. The breakfast was great. Very modern and bright. The staff people smile. Great location. I parked 7 minutes from the place and paid less than 40 bucks per night. You can walk to many great restaurants. You have to be willing to pay a little extra but live a little. The view was fantastic. Quiet place. We thought the fire station was going to be a problem but not here. We walked to the magnificent mile and took a cab back. 6 bucks! We walked downtown at night and the buildings along the river were amazing. Marriot Courtyard may have a pool but nothing else beats Hyatt Place.

Room Tip: Our room was great so don't worry. Tell your wife to dress kind of jazzy when going out because...

This hotel is outstanding. Great size rooms with a sofa where you can sit & relax or watch tv as well as 2 beds which were really comfy.Very new & modern !Great when travelling with kids too It was close to the train & bus as well as restaurants & the magnificent mile. The breakfast had good variety & was served with real cutlery not the plastic variety you get at a lot of hotels now.
The staff were helpful & friendly. Previous reviews mentioned the fire station & sirens during the night. We faced this & were on the 10th floor & although we did hear sirens it wasn't too loud or intrusive...all part of being in the city.

Sometimes it is the little touches like real cutlery, our cozy corner couch and the multiple selections of our A.M. Skillet that make a hotel stay outstanding. It is a pleasure to have made such a positive impression upon you. We aim to always be your first choice for hotel accommodations in Chicago.

Sincerely,
