So this was my second time staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago and just like the last time the visit was outstanding!

To sum it up in one word, VALUE. If you book online through the Hard Rock's website you can get a sweet, sweet deal! I stayed in one of the King Tower rooms and felt like a king, a sad king though, since my wife wasn't able to make the trip.

It is at a great location and you can zip in and out in a hurry.

We walked to Michigan Ave. shopping, great restaurants, Millenium Park and other sightseeing. The location could not have been any better. We have to give a shout to the Hard Rock Concierge staff, especially Sheila G. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave excellent recommendations for dining, shopping and sightseeing and knew the bus and train routes, numbers and stations by heart. We stayed in a Studio Suite on the 33rd floor and the views of Michigan Ave., the Chicago River and the skyline in general were outstanding. The room was perfect for relaxing after a long day of trekking around Chicago for the first time. Nice 'L' - shaped couch, desk for writing post cards, spacious bath with seperate tub and shower and a comfy bed. Definitely looking forward to a return trip and stay.

Room Tip: Great views fom the Studio Suites in the upper floors of the tower.

I think you have to be into the Hard Rock vibe to really appreciate the hotel. Having stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in the past, Chicago's is definitely more adult-oriented and a bit more swish. I was only there one night, but the room was fantastic (perhaps my view is skewed because I was upgraded to a suite), comfy bed, nice amenities, cool decor/music, great service. Decent wi-fi, but there is a charge, which I hate as a matter of principle. It's walking distance to a whole lot, so I think it would work very well for a bolthole for work or a dirty weekend.

Room Tip: If you are a Hard Rock Rewards member, you get a free room upgrade if available.

I stayed during a work trip and it was what I expected. Classic rock themed floors and classic rock on the stereo. I would stay again since they were clean rooms, nice sheets, and the shower Had decent water pressure. I would say that the hotel was not plush or extremely luxurious but it was a decent hotel at a decent price.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Michigan ave may have bathrooms that have windows facing office buildings.

We were delighted with our stay at the Hard Rock. We had absolutely no idea what to expect, but it was friendly, very comfortable, and centrally located. We parked our car for two days and walked everywhere, with one trolley ride when we were pooped. From this location we walked easily to the Art Institute for the Picasso show, to the Water Tower shopping area for dinner at the Grand Lux Cafe (our favorite), next day to Navy Pier for the Flower Show, a movie, dinner in, then brunch at 312 in the Theater Distric and The Book of Mormon. Scott the concierge was helpful with directions and even got us into Grand Lux ahead of other waiting people. We were onthe 18th Floor (The Tina Turner Floor) with a great northward view.

Room Tip: I used the fitness room- very nice, latest equipment.
