“Salad bar and Gyros”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Unfortunately for me this amazing place is only 2 doors down from my gym and it's always a hard temptation to avoid. I can't get get enough of their gyros. You can tell that the meat is fresh, kosher, and full of flavor. The pitas and taziki sauce melt in my mouth. They also have a very nutritious variety of ingredients on their salad menu, which are modified every few days to keep it new and ineteresting.
Last I have to mention how sweet and cheerful the owner is. He always seems to be having the best day ever and greets us both with a "my sister" and "my brother" every time. His wife has a styling salon right next door that is also a great location. I love this small restaurant and would suggest it to anyone for lunch or a light dinner.

“Good food. Really nice owner. Lots of choices.”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

We've enjoyed a bunch of the pita sandwiches, and the fillings are always good from falafel, to hummus, to chicken shawarma. I had my first fatoush salad here and really enjoy it. Turkish coffee and mint tea (it's from a tea bag, but quite good) are good for finishing up your dining experience. There are plenty of places to sit as the restaurant extends inward for a good distance. Note that you'll be mostly eating off of paper and plastic. The hospitality of the owner makes you want to return again and again. If you're a student or on a typical student budget this could quickly become a favorite since you get big portions, food is well seasoned, you won't get hassled to clear a table right away, prices are reasonable, and the menu is enormous. Pita Queen is a very good "add-on" stop if you're in the area for other shopping, nearby at Lincoln Park Zoo, or you're just a few doors away at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema. There's a parking garage within the block, and there are stops nearby for at least three different CTA buses.

“Best falafel around”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

Go for the falafel, not the atmosphere. It's just a neighborhood joint on Clark St. in Lakeview just north of Diversey, but the owner makes her own seasonings for the falafel and it's outstanding. All their Middle Eastern selections are quite good and they have a lovely salad bar. And every day they have one Indian dish, though I've never tried that. Also haven't tried the American options (hot dogs, burgers, etc.). Most of their business is carry out and delivery, but they have several tables where you can eat in. The price is unbelievably low, especially for that neighborhood. You could order several dishes to share with a group meze style and not spend a lot per person.
