I've been to Hostels in Portland, San Francisco and New York and this buy far is the best one. Rooms very nice and clean (stayed in the dorm for a night and in the 4 bed bedroom for another. The location is great, just minutes away from subway, bus stop, nice places to eat, great blues pubs and dance clubs. Very safe neighborhood, free public parking nearby and Excellent staff. The staff was the best! Always being friendly and giving nice hints about what to do and where to go.

I just came back from my trip to Chicago, I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and I have to say that it was an awesome experience. I was traveling solo but I never felt alone because I met people from all different parts of the world. The hostel in very big, clean, in a safe neighborhood and it's 10 min. away from the Fullerton Station. If you happen to be there on a thursday night like I did, go to the pub crawl, its fun. With no doubt I would recommend this hostel if you are looking for something affordable and convenient.

Room Tip: Get a dorm with the bathroon inside, I think it's more comfortable.

Stayed here for four nights at the start of the summer. Was fine, small rooms and it was very noisy. Was a very very expensive stay, not worth the money charged, there are hotels that are of similar price that are better.

We stayed in a private room with full bathroom, and found the hostel clean quiet, and comfortable. Our room actually had a double bed, with a single bunk on top as well as a bunk bed on the other side. (It would technically have slept 5 people.) So you may want to inquire about the bed configuration if you are booking a private room.
The location is fantastic, the wifi is fast, and the staff are helpful. Can't ask for much better for a weekend in the city. Bed was reasonably comfortable, and breakfast was fine - bagels, cereal, coffee, but only until 9:30, take note if you're a late sleeper. : )

If you are with a group, this cant be beat. Everything was very clean and it had all the amenities you could ask for. The honesty there was outstanding too, everyone seemed to trust each other and I never felt threatened. I just wish the back patio was open after 10pm.

I spent my first 3 days in Chicago in this great hostel. The rooms are small and sparsely furnished but I am out all day anyway. The amenities are very good. The bathrooms are spacious and there are enough showers with hot water, hair dryer, etc. Breakfast is ample and self-service, so everyone can eat as much as they like. Storage space in fridges and freezers for your own food and plenty of kitchen space to cook it. Access internet in the lobby (5 computers). Courtyard behind the building for outside eating. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only real disadvantage was the noise from the airconditioning. We switched ours off as it was not really necessary, but the noise from everyone else's kept us awake. Take ear plugs!

Nestled in Lincoln Park this place is a little piece of Europe in Chicago. The staff and location make this a worthwhile place to stay. The rooms are simple at best but clean and very well maintained. Free breakfast and wifi are thrown into the deal. It's a fascinating place in part because it draws people from around the world. Sit in the common areas and you can't help but meet someone traveling through Chicago from some other part of the world. I just beat an Aussie at pool. Sorry mate! If youre looking for a reasonable place to stay and don't plan spending your time in Chicago in your room this is a definite place to consider. I'll be back. Bring your own shampoo/soap as none are provided.
