We stayed at Longman and Eagle for a couple of nights at the begining of our US vacation. The warning on the confirmation that this is a late night venue and rooms can be noisy prepared us to be disturbed. In fact our room over the main restaurant and bar area was probably the best we've ever stayed in, and yes, there is some noise transference, but we did not find it particularly obtrusive and would not hesitate to stay here next time we're in Chicago. We were offered a table for dinner - and the food was first rate, breakfasts were also very good. L&E is situated very close to Logan Square on the Blue metro line from O'Hare airport and is in a very interesting area. It's very laid back and is very different from a regular hotel experience. We loved it.

Room Tip: Room 55 is the biggest and is located straight above the resturant and bar. If you want to try L&E but are concerned about the noise, ask which room woudl be most quiet.

Very close to the Logan Square train exit, Longman & Eagle had great food and selection of whiskys besides a * very * comfortable room with free wifi. I loved it and will go back in the future!

I recently stayed one evening in room #76, a quaint room facing Schubert Ave.
I checked in at the front desk of the restaurant, where I was greeted by two friendly women. The process was brief, and I was also surprised they extended a dinner reservation for me (not offered to general public). I was immediately impressed by the accomodations. The bathroom and shower area were modern and extremely clean. The windows allowed in a nice amount of light to keep it bright and cheery. The room was simply but tastefully decorated. I was impressed with the tempting snack/beverage options available for purchase. Joined some friends for dinner in the restaurant downstairs, and we all left very happy and full.
This is a great option for someone looking to experience the Logan Square neighborhood, as well as a great base to explore Chicago in general due to its proximity to the Blue Line. Excellent dining option right on site---with a hip vibe.
The only downside I found was the noise level in the evening. I could hear the music downstairs into the early morning hours.

This excellent restaurant/gastropub has a few rooms upstairs. They are very "European" - white walls / dark wood floors / glass-enclosed bathrooms. It is more of an "inn", with minimal amenities (no front desk or concierge, no room service, rooms made-up only upon request. While this may sound like it would be a problem, we did not find this so. Coffee is available at 8AM and the restaurant also serves breakfast beginning at 9AM. Rooms are spotless, and staff are very helpful. The only possible drawback is that the location is in the heart of a very hot area with lots of late-night bar-hopping. The bar is open until 2AM and it can be loud in the upstairs rooms (particularly on Mondays when drinks are cheaper). Other than that, we were extremely satisfied. Of course the very low rooms rates helped, and being across the street from the Blue Line subway to O'Hare and to downtown is another big plus.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms over the dining room (NOT over the bar!). Rooms vary greatly in size and price, but all are still very reasonable. Even the smallest room was adequate for a couple.
