I would stay here every time I am in Chicago and I would recommend it to anyone who asks! When you walk in there is always a candle burning right by the door and it smells amazing. The lobby is huge and modern and really pretty with low lighting and friendly desk clerks. They upgraded us to two double beds (we had booked 1 king because it was cheaper) for no charge which was really nice and the beds were HEAVENLY. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my lifetime and this hotel had BY FAR the most comfortable beds. So fluffy and amazing. The shower was really relaxing with good water pressure. My only complaint would be the fridge had a bunch of stuff in it for purchase and I wish we could have fit our leftovers from restaurants in it. A microwave and coffee maker would have been nice as well but I know that's not really common in hotels anyway. In my opinion this hotel is in the PERFECT location for nearby attractions. Overall we really really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower over the holidays and we really liked it! The location was wonderful, you can walk to River North, Michigan Ave, Oak Street...great location. The view from the rooms....not so great, but so what??? The bathrooms were very luxurious. The bed was very luxurious. The front desk was very attentive. The bar was awesome, great martinis, and the breakfast in bed was great. Very tasty! Luis from room service even gave us a free basket of fresh delicious chocolate croissants! One criticism, having been away from Chicago for a long time, I asked the concierge to make us reservations at a restaurant that used to be great but is now in the gutters, the Chicago Chop House. I do wish he would have warned us that the quality of this restaurant diminished greatly!! That's OK, I probably acted like I knew what I was talking about. I didn't even check tripadvisor for recent ratings on the restaurant, I just assumed! I do love a great, confident concierge who looks out for his guests! I'm just saying...

Bottom line is, stay here for the location and the great service. You won't regret it!

The location of this hotel is perfect. It is literally 1 block away from the main shopping street of chicago and then its only 10-15 minutes walk to trump tower and the river.

The room is fantastic, as we booked by expedia they upgraded us to a suite which was amzing and the view over the city is fantastic.

The famous Giordanos Pizza Pie restaurant is only 5 minutes walk away, ask for directions from the hotel and i have to say i would go back to chicago just for the pizza pie! it was amazing!

Check in was very quick, staff are very helpful and the hotel bar is very nice as is the restaurant. Overall, i was only stay in this hotel when i come back to chicago.

Room Tip: book on expedia to get a free upgrade to a suite.

Everything about this hotel was truly outstanding for our recent stay in Chicago: Service, housekeeping, amenities, room furnishings, and location. There are other great hotels in this neighborhood, but the Sofitel is a block off of Michigan, making it quieter when you want it to be quiet. We could not recommend it more highly, and will definitely stay there again.

Our stay of three nights at the Sofitel Water Tower was excellent. From the check in, to the room upgrade, to the welcome drinks at the bar, to the friendly service/concierge, and the efficient car valet service ... all was flawless. The location/proximity to Michigan Avenue is wonderful, although you are near the north end of the famous shopping strip/mile. But if you love Chicago, and you love to walk and enjoy the outdoors, it is a great spot.

Last but not least, I have to reiterate the point made by previous reviews, the bedding is superb. They are extremely comfortable and the prestige suite is spacious enough for a family of 4 with ample privacy.

You can't go wrong at this Sofitel!

Wonderful customer service. This is the only hotel I have stayed at where the front desk representative actually comes around the counter to show you where the elevator is and other areas of the hotel. No just pointing from behind the counter. Loved my stay!! Great location in Chicago!

Hey- if you want to be treated like a movie star and cradled in the bosom of Chicago, book your reservation at the Sofitel. This was my first trip to Chicago in winter - and yes, I stayed during the coldest weather in 20 years (Jan 3-6, 2014). My friend and I had a BALL!! To say that the staff took good care of these San Diegans would be an understatement. Everyone there- from doorman to bartender went the extra ‘magnificent’ mile to ensure we were happy and pampered. Pete, the concierge turned us on to the best restaurant I’ve ever enjoyed (I’ll give you a hint: It’s a fish and oyster bar on Wells Street). The next day, he suggested a super fun pub where we cheered on the Chargers. I could almost swear Pete ordered us the win. When we entered the hotel bar, Kevin was waiting with drinks and congratulations (Somehow, word had gotten out we were Charger fans). He then introduced us to Joseph, the Assistant Outlets Manager who shared fun stories about the hotel and the city and introduced us to some quintessential Chicago regulars who made us feel right at home- One even bought us drinks☺ Lastly, on the coldest day ever, during our 6am check out, the doorman braved sub zero temps for 10 minutes to secure transport for us to the burbs, while the receptionists went above and beyond to suggest travel options and investigate whether the train was running and our destination was open for business. I loved these people.

Come for the eye candy (amenities, décor, views) and stay for the personnel and vibe.

Room Tip: Well, I loved being high up- We were in 2512- with view of John Hancock and cathedral across the str...

Dear KatieNsd2014,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted to know that you and your friend had such a "ball" at Sofitel and that you loved the recommendations that our Concierge Peter had for you. We are also very glad to know that we were able to assist you with securing a cab during your 6 a.m. check out in the sub-zero Chicago weather. Thank you again for your positive review, and we hope that you will present us with the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.
