“Some food Excellent, Some Marginal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2011

We ate here with a large group. The staff was very kind and professional. We ordered two bottles of wine, one of which they didn't have in stock, but with an extensive wine list, this could be expected.

We ordered several appetizers, the mussels were unbelievable, best I've ever had in any coastal town. The scallops were also excellent, very fresh with good flavor and prepared with class.

Main course, I had the Risotto with steamed shellfish. Again, fantastic and well prepared. The flavor was excellent and all the seafood very fresh.

Another in our group had spaghetti which was very run of the mill. Nothing outstanding, nothing unusual, just spaghetti, and somewhat plain. This same person also had a caesar salad and raved about it. I had a bite and it was very good.

Finally, one person in our group ordered veal. This was the let down of the night. There was a strong chemical, almost soapy taste to the veal according to 4 of us that all tried it. Wait staff were very gracious, just a disappointing entree.

Total service time was on the longer side, but nothing outrageous.

Overall our night was good. Not the best ever, but good and what I would say is acceptable or met expectations, didn't exceed them, but met.

“Fantastic Service, Hospitality and Cuisine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2011

Went to the restaurant with a group of four people. We got a table in the corner by the entrance to the restaurant. We did not want to sit by the door but there were no other tables because the restaurant was packed. At the end, the table was in a great location because it was quieter than the rest of the restaurant. The hostess brought us each a glass of champagne because we were kind to sit at the corner table.

The food was just amazing, Italian restaurant cuisine. We had the calamari appetizer. The four course meals were veal steak with mushrooms, seafood pasta with spicy tomato sauce, Gorgonzola cheese gnocchi and potato and corn mix with shrimp, scallops and other seafood on top. We had a bottle of Malbec red wine, $44 for a bottle, great red wine. For desert, we ordered the specialty chocolate cake with chocolate melted fudge in the middle, like a lava cake with vanilla and ice cream, well worth the $11.

Throughout the entire night, the service was exceptional. Always asking if we needed something, they gave great recommendations on the menu. Water was always filled up. At the end, the waiter brought us Limonchello on the house, a Italian sweet liquor specialty.

Not much more I can say, I will definitely be back! Great experience

“Delicious Italian cuisine.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2011

The veal osso bucco was amazingly good. Bice is a couple blocks west of the north end of the "Magnificent Mile" on East Delaware Street. We initially stopped for a drink and appetizers. Those were so good that we stayed for dinner. That was the best dining decision we made in Chicago.
