Complicated, limited menu. You need to understand complicated food to really appreciate this restaurant. The service is strange and may be part of the design. I am too niave to understand. However, lunch cost much less than I expected. Do not show up in a t shirt. Great view but when we ate there, the actual terrace, on both sides -the bar and restaurant- were closed, and the bar tender met us with a nasty steely clipped comment when I asked him if they were open for lunch.

We headed to the Terrace at Trump International after dining elsewhere. It was a Sat. night and really crowded. We put our names on a list around 8:50PM. We were told 45 min. wait and asked if we were staying at the hotel.(hint...hint) I sent my husband to check after about 25 minutes to see if a table was ready. Sure enough, we were to be seated. My husband said that a large group headed by a businessman was negotiating for 12 people who ended bumping others on the list. We did get seated and no doubt the view is magnificent, fireworks and all. It is very romantic, but you pay for it!! :) Others behind us were told no more names would be added for the evening. The least expensive beverage item was beer. We drank bubbly but hey, it was our anniversary. We were never even offered food, though we were full from dinner. Our waitress was attentive and good humored. If you park at the hotel self parking garage, it will cost you $28 for 1-3 hours. Good grief! Know before you go!

“Worse service ever”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

i actually wish Mr Trump would have been with us. the donald would have said you're fired more than once.
As everyone has said the view is outstanding. Dropped in on the way to another destination for a drink in the bar and there was a long wait. you can make reservations however and if you want to make reservations to view the river it would be the thing to do. we were seated inside but right by the window so had the same view but our table was not cleaned until we asked. long wait to be waited on, and service was essentially non existent. My wife's wineglass had lipstick on it and since we could not get service she took it to the hostess desk and got another. In looking at bar menu inside and outside there was about a 25% increase in drink prices (to about $20 a pop) ouside compared to inside.

Beware of a bar where reviewers only talk about the view.

“Stunning views!”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

We wandered into the Trump tower on our way to another destination. We were from out of town, but we were with 2 friends that are locals. One of our friends asked an employee for a suggestion, and she suggested the Terrace. Wow! We arrived around 6, and were promptly seated. By the time we left around 7, there was an hour wait. It was a Saturday evening, and half the Terrace seating was reserved for a wedding party that arrived some time around 6:30ish. Drinks were typically priced for a 5 star hotel. The old fashioned came smoking with liquid nitrogen, and another drink came with a cucumber frozen in the ice. Nice touches, and tasted great. I'll definitely stop in again on my next trip.

“You should do this”

Afternoon best time to go. We walked in at 1:30 and were seated right at the banister in front of the river. View is unforgettable. Designed really well. Go for dessert. Kids will love it and you will too.
