Stopped in for a drink while waiting for our table at Lou Malnati's next door (a MUST if you've never tried their pizza) and was pleasantly surprised. Low key sports bar atmosphere, nice guy checking IDs at the door (haha, who comments on the guy checking IDs? This girl...), fast service (though we were just getting drinks and it was somewhat early in the night), and $5 beer. Can't really complain. Also, quite a few selections on tap which was nice.

Was roaming about looking for some busy bars to take drinks in, when I stumbled across this. S I decided to try it out.
Lots of tables and a long bar, the doorman was friendly as was my waitress.
They had the NFL on most screens, with the NCAA women's volleyball on a few others. There were plenty of people all enjoying themselves, which is usually a good sign.
Ordered a 312, diet coke and 1/2 beef brisket with a side of corn on the cob.The food was good, a little cold, but there was plenty of it. Got a good atmosphere in there. Probably are better BBQ destinations, but this wasn't a planned destination of choice and catered for what I wanted. Sports bar, BBQ food and friendly atmosphere at a relatively low cost.

Wife and i split the combo platter (chicken, ribs, and sausage). Good smokey flavor, firm meat, lean, and very tender but not the juicy fallin' off the bone style. Great mix of BBQ sauces for every taste. We added mac&cheese and some vegi's. Thru all that down with a fresh, locally brewed ale. Big sports atmosphere even for an off Sunday afternoon (Bears had a bye week). The owner chatted with us for a bit and shared stores about BBQ haunts around the country. Sure, i'd go back but it's not a destination eatery.

Pulled pork was ok, but the brisket was very, very fatty. And after drinking most of my iced tea, I discovered a shot glass in the bottom! There are much better bbq places in the city than this. Don't waste your time or your money on this one.

This place isn't going to knock your socks off with fancy plates or 5 course tasting menus. It's a bar that serves beer in mason jars and smokes their meat out back. The burgers are great, and smoked wings have a great flavor to them. Try the brisket chilli as well. Worth it when you are in Lincoln Park area to drop in.
