“A Hidden Treasure!”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

If you blink you might pass it....the only sign is written on the wall by the door. But Taxim is a restaurant that is worth stopping for. Eclectic menu, fabulous service and great wine selection. The waiter graciously explained the dishes and recommended pairings. The menu is perfect for sharing.

“A Mediterranean Treasure”
Reviewed August 13, 2011

We drove 15 miles from the suburbs to eat at Taxim on the advice of a friend and we are glad we did!

The menu consists of small cold plates, small hot plates, and mains. This is Greek/Mediterranean fare, but with a creative twist. Our waiter did an outstanding job of explaining the menu and making recommendations. We found the vegetarian items to be exceptional, but my favorites were the grilled chicken, pork shoulder, and octopus.

Taxim is a great place to for two or for a large group of friends. The food is ideal for sharing. Our group of six shared 8 small plates and two mains -- more than enough food and very reasonably priced.

The chef, David, is a Chicagoan whose mother is Greek. He spent his summers in Greece where he developed passion for Greek and Mediterranean cooking. He worked in several Chicago restaurants before opening Taxim. You are likely to meet David, he likes to talk food with his customers.

We will be back soon!
