We enjoyed the pizza so much we ate lunch here twice on a four day trip. There is a lunch special for $8.45 you get a personal pizza, salad and a drink. The space is warm and inviting and the staff is very pleasant.

I was introduced to Lou Mainati's Pizzeria by the Food Planet City Tour of Gold Coast this past summer while vacationing in Chicago. I simply couldn't wait to go back. Lou's classic deep dish pizza was terrific - great blend of spices, tomato, cheese and sausage. They have truly perfected the crust so it stays firm and doesn't get soggy - yippee! :-) Love the ambiance of the location on Rush Street. Service was terrific and everyone was very friendly - while we were told it would be a 30 min wait, by the time we ordered a drink at the bar and had a sip, our table was ready. I love walking the city and this is a great destination location to have lunch or dinner in all seasons. Check it out - you won't be disappointed.

We love love"the Lou" deep dish...awesome combo go spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms& their incredible buttery crust. Better yet, it comes in a personal size...so if I want the Lou and my dining companions don't, I'm all set. The mataldis salad is also not to be missed...a regular size easily feeds 2-3. I also recommend their trio of dips and their meatball sandwich! Great atmosphere...you order the pizza while you wait but never fell rushed if you want to get a bottle of wine & kick back. Top it with excellent service and an easy walk from mag mile hotels...perfect.

On our recent trip to Chicago, we decided to give other establishments a chance to compete for the title of the best deep dish pizza in town. We visited Gino's East, Giordano's, and finally Lou Malnati's. We had visited Lou's a couple years ago, knew it was good but had forgotten how good it tasted. Lou's classic deep dish pizza was superb! The crust was buttery and flaky, the sausage was lean, not greasy, we also added pepperoni and green peppers, which all made the slices melt in your mouth. Yum! They don't overdo the sauce either, so you can taste each ingredient with every bite. So if you are in Chicago, don't bother with the rest, just go to Lou Malnati's!

Long wait as reservation s not taken. We were expecting extraordinary quality of the deep pan pizza but were disappointed at the quite average quality. Conversely the salad and deserts we ordered eete good. The service was overall good but on leaving a 10% tip were rather taken aback by the surly response of our server!
