Checked in and loved the retro architecture in the lobby. The mega room we were upgraded to was good, but didnt have any type of view, so that was disappointing. The breakfast was very average, but included in our stay. The only problem we had was that our room had no fridges and the concierge (Eden)was rarely at her desk. We wanted to book multiple excursions, but could only catch her once to book Willis Tower Skydeck. It was discounted though. Her restaurant recommendations were outdated and not good. The room was okay. Bed was comfy, and the shower was sufficiently big enough. The water felt like it didnt get all the way hot though. Other than that it was a quality stay. The hotel is in a great area, but most places nearby are closed if it's a holiday.

Thanks for staying with us and leaving feedback regarding your stay. So glad to hear that you enjoyed your time here in downtown Chicago but surely disappointed to hear that your guestroom didn't live up to your expectations. Having been built in the 1920s, our unique structure does cause some variance between rooms especially with our location in the financial district. Since the construction of our storied property, many new, taller high-rises have popped up around our building and downtown Chicago as a whole. That being said, some of our rooms do tend to be a bit closer to nearby buildings than others, inhibiting views from most rooms. On your next visit, be sure to reach out to me, the property's W Insider. I'll do my very best to get you into a room with a nice view of the Chicago skyline and hook you up with recommendations that better suits your style.

Walking in, was so very cool and the decor kinda makes you feel like you go back in time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed as a family and my son said that the bed was "Epic!". It was very comfortable and the decor was very nice in the room.

recently stayed at the W Chicago City Center. This is a Boutique Hotel. The Mobility Access room was large and clean, Bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned as requested late afternoon. The entire staff was friendly and met all our needs and requests. Hotel was in the financial district and easy to get to the Wedding venue and Rehearsal dinner.

My wife and I come to Chicago a couple of times a year for business. We absolutely love Chicago (non winter) ! After a recent stay at a W in L.A. (Westwood) and having a great experience, we decided to stay at The W in Chicago.

We totally get that it’s a beautiful lobby and meeting space. Architecture is unique and bar area has that W feel. However, we found the rooms to be similar to a roadside motel and not worth the 35,000 Bonvoy points per night. Perhaps 12,500 tops.

Upon arrival in the room, we were shocked at the small size of the room. Tiny. But that can be expected from an older building in a city like Chicago. We have stayed in tiny rooms before in NYC hotels, so we get it. BUT, this room looked outdated, old dinky window shades, no decor, paint chipping, uncomfortable bed with a weird mattress cover, a work space / desk that if you are sharing a room, the other person can’t get by you without stepping on the bed, no views, and a tiny tiny bathroom with a shower you have to squeeze into and have to put the water on once you are in there and shut the door so you get hit with a blast of cold water before it warms up. Oh, and there were these little nats flying around in the bathroom. I must have killed over 20 of them over the 3 night stay. At the end of the day, we just needed a place to sleep and do a few conference calls in the AM before heading to meetings and other activities., but simply not worth the money / points in our opinion.

The staff was As responsive as we could ask and I don’t blame them. The hotel was full so no rooms available for us to move to and the other hotels in the area were all booked up so we couldn’t leave. We have loved the Westin, Marriott, Hyatt and even JW in Chicago. Some of them have HUGE rooms

W Just was not up to our value for 35,000 points Rather use that towards gorgeous resorts in the Bonvoy family.

Thank you for your honest and detailed feedback regarding your recent stay, as well as your understanding regarding the layout of your guestroom. You're absolutely right, our storied property was erected in the late 1920s and our unique & historic structure does cause some variance between rooms especially with our location in the financial district. That being said, some of our rooms do tend to be a bit cozier and closer to nearby buildings than others, inhibiting views from most rooms. We are truly sorry for any discomfort the guestroom's setup may have caused you. We do have several larger room types on our property as well and we'd love the opportunity to work with you to get you into a room type more suitable to your taste on your next Chicagoland visit.

The presence of any form of an insect in your guestroom, however, is absolutely unacceptable and not indicative of the standard we adhere to at W Hotels. Here at W City Center, it is our goal to provide an exceptional guest experience for each person who graces our property. This guest experience includes the cleanliness and overall upkeep of our guestrooms and common areas. I apologize for failing to meet that standard during your stay with us. I have alerted our Style (housekeeping) Department leaders of the feedback you've left and they are working to locate and rectify this issue. They are also taking the necessary steps to transform this incident into a training opportunity for the entire department, to ensure that this experience does not repeat to you or any other guests in the future. I, again, sincerely apologize for the service failure and any discomfort or inconvenience it may have caused.

I hope that on your next visit to downtown Chicago you'd allow us the opportunity to leave a more favorable impression. If your travels do, indeed, lead you back in our direction in the near future, please reach out to me, the property's W Insider. I promise to do my very best to ensure a more memorable stay.

Eden Bernal did an excellent job booking tours and keeping us on track.
She was helpful in getting organized before the trip and helped to make sure we were on time. The boat venue was excellent. Her restaurant recommendations were also excellent.

For the money paid it was a small room, no coffee making facilities, noisy a/c, expensive bar. We stayed at Marriott Magnificent Mile last time, wished we had done this time. I will get my company to de-list it as a Chicago choice.

We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent stay and disappointed to hear that it was anything less than perfect. I apologize that it was not properly communicated to you, however we do, indeed, supply guests with coffee makers in their guestrooms. To ensure that each coffee maker is cleaned and maintained properly and regularly, coffee makers are made available upon request. A coffee station is also present each morning, until 11am, in the Living Room on our main level.

We also offer several varying room types on our property that range from our smallest, "Cozy", room type to extremely large suites. Having been built in the late 1920's, our unique and historic structure does cause some variance between rooms. That being said, a few of our rooms are a bit cozier than others. I'm truly sorry for any discomfort your guestroom may have caused you.

I hope that on your next trip to downtown Chicago you'll give us an opportunity to make a more pleasing impression. If, by chance, you do return in the near future, please feel free to reach out to me, the property's W Insider, directly. I'll do my best to amplify your time here and aid you in selecting a room type that better suits your style.
