First time in Chicago, location is great, short walks to most of my meetings, checked in very late since my flight got delayed. Only one person (Cindy) at the hotel desk but it was surprisingly fast, friendly and efficient, will be back again.

We travelled to Chicago in September 2012 and stayed at Club Quarters Chicago Central Loop
111 West Adams Street
(Next to the Rookery and near LaSalle)
Chicago, IL 60603
Phone: 1 (312) 214-6400
The rooms are small but have everything you need. The price in comparison to the other hotels in the loop was half the cost. This hotel was located about 4 blocks from Union Station(walking distance) and walking distance to most attractions. We loved the refillable water bottles available on every floor.

Great location. Right around the corner from the metro and a straight shot to O'Hare airport. Walking distance to milenium park, next to a startbucks, target close by and the 151 bus (stop is right in front of th hotel) takes you up Michigan Ave. Very clean rooms and there are free water bottles for guests to fill up with purified water. No mini refrigerators in room but there is an ice machine. The room with 1 queen bed was small but it was just what we needed. We went in mid September and the room was very cold at night. We asked the front desk about the room temp and they said we could only turn off the AC and get extra blankets because the building heating hadn't yet been turned on. We were pleased with our stay.

I expected more from this hotel. The thermostat did not work in my room. It was very cold in my room but the heat didn't work. Also, the flapper in the toilet was not working so the toilet would just keep running. Therefore, every time that I flushed the toilet I had to lift up the lid on the toilet tank and push the flapper down. These are basic things that should be working in a hotel room. The bathroom is very small. It reminded me of the bathrooms that I have had in hotels in Paris, London and Rome. The room smelled. I was in room 614. The 6th floor and the room looked "dated". The only thing that I liked was using the self check-in and self check-out at one of their kiosks. I do not plan on staying at this hotel again.

Clean, large, quiet room with a fridge and microwave. Very cheap compared to other hotels, and extremely central. I couldn't believe my luck, as all other hotels in the area were so expensive, so I expected an average to poor hotel, and then was so surprised by how genuinely nice this was.
Free wi-fi is GREAT - so sick of having to pay for this essential amenity!
The purified water on each floor is such a nice touch also.

This hotel was average in all definitions of the word. It was in a good part of town (very short walk to the Red and Blue metro lines), a lot of places are easy to walk to, and I felt very safe. What makes the hotel "average" is just the quality of the room.

We stayed in a one-bed (queen) for two nights. The walls are very thin (my wife heard the TV in the other room) and the beds were rather hard (I prefer soft beds - if you like your mattress harder than normal, then this will be a huge positive for you). The place is tiny, but it is just enough room for a married couple.

The closest parking garage is about $33/day, so you may need to factor that into your costs as well. The garage itself is about 4-5 blocks away off of South Federal Street. We had one large bag that was somewhat cumbersome, but manageable (it didn't have wheels).

We recently stayed at Club Quarters in the Chicago Financial District for the first time. Just like their other properties, this one was not without style, and clean, though the room was basic and small. On a balmy fall night, the room was very chilly when we entered. Mgmt sent some blankets, but told us that our choice was "no air or chilled air". Windows are sealed and temperature controls on the thermostat were a fiction -- no heat can be turned on until A predesignated date in the Fall. We'll stay in less chilly quarters next time we are in the windy city.
