Coming from the Southwest we have a very high standard for Mexican food. This would not be an outstanding restaurant at home, but it was good by comparison with others we have tried in Chicago. Some people might even complain that the food is too spicy -- heaven help them if they come to our area! Our waitress was clearly Hispanic and it was obvious that English was her second language, but she was eager to please and made the meal more pleasant. It was nice to hear "Por nada" when I said "Gracias" instead of the grunt that I get (at best) from many servers.
