Description: Girl & the Goat has been serving fun foods, craft beers, and making wine in a rustic and kick-butt environment since summer 2010. The restaurant opens at 4:30 every day, and stays open until 11pm on weeknights and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (until those last late night eaters scrape their fork across the plate for the last time, or finish licking their plates until they're shiny and clean). The Goat's menu is divided into three categories: Vegetable, Fish, and of course Meat--while vegetable, fish, or meat are respectively the main stars of their categories, there are crossovers in each area so you'll get a little bit of everything. Bread is baked daily, and there are always new creations on the menu. Girl & the Goat sits in the West Loop smack dab in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor, but the location is still gritty enough to appeal to the chef’s integrity. The Goat has a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help.Girl & the Goat blended their own wine, and it's tasty. There are beers on tap from Three Floyd’s and a couple others. If you're lucky, you might come across the elusive collaboration beers that Stephanie personally crafted with a couple of beer buddy cohorts. In addition to tap beers, there's also a bunch of bottles to choose from. Girl & the Goat is open 7 days a week, because The Goat is a tireless beast, and besides, who needs rest anyway? Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.

Amazing food, great ambiance, very enjoyable experience. I would recommend going with a bigger group so you can try more dishes (there were only two of us so we only ordered 4 dishes). The cocktails are unique and tasty and I highly recommend giving one a try. In terms of food, definitely try a bread and I also recommend the beat salad. I've also heard the roasted cauliflower, pig face, and pork shank are all great choices.

I went here with colleagues for dinner when in Chicago - the food (small plates) was fantastic, very unique and amazing flavors. The staff were incredibility welcoming advising us on local beers and selecting from the menu. Beware this place is popular - so book! We were told there was a 2 hour wait for a table, but found seats at the bar fairly quickly.

While the food and drink at Girl and the Goat were excellent, as expected of a TopChef winner, the noise level on a Saturday night was so high as to be unpleasant. We had to lean across the table and shout to hear each other and it was difficult to hear our servers recommendation. Make no mistake, the food was fabulous, as were the cocktails. Extensive menu with very interesting selections available. Kudos to Chef Stephanie.

Every time I am in Chicago I must visit this place. Time and time again I am never disappointed.
The atmosphere breeds fun and the food is outstanding.

The cauliflower (rich and tasty) and grilled shrimp were out of this world delicious. We also had the goat empanadas which were very tasty.

We couldn't decide between red or white so we each chose to order by the glass. The waitress recommend the restaurant blend for the red and for a house wine it was excellent.

Will be back as soon as I can!

The atmosphere was cool but a little noisy, though that was due to one loud mouth girl that was more full of herself than the food.
The menu is eclectic, with choices in all the food groups. We tried the Not Campbell's bread, yummy! The butternut squash dumplings were ok, they had an overpowering fake smoke flavor. The Diver Scallops were so salty they were inedible, and our roast cauliflower never made it to us. Management was attentive and apologetic and service was ok, but we will not return.
