i've been walking past this place for a few months and it always seems very quiet, so i thought i'd give it a try (almost out of pity).
i'm glad i did, the food and service were excellent.
the chef/owner is from mexico but received her formal training in paris, she knows her stuff.
everything we tried was good, with the standouts being the cerviche and the chicken el pastor. the lobster enchillada was flavorful but very light on lobster (the only disappointing thing we tried).
our waiter was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients, he was also charming.
its byob which is good for the budget and the cava we brought went well with our meal but i really wanted a margarita!!
next door is a huge mexican restaurant called adobo grill, it's very average but was packed. sabor saveur serves far superior food but was empty........bizarre.
i just saw their brunch menu and it looks very interesting, we'll try that next.
we're really happy we gave this place a try, a very pleasant surprise.
