Delicious meal at this hotel restaurant. Very modern cool looking restaurant with outdoor space. We had a bunch of different dishes, you can order full or half portion, ordering half portions give you the possibility to try more dishes.
We had devilled truffle eggs, unbelievably good, Mac and cheese, rich and creamy, tuna tartare, pirogi. Everything was excellent. The only issue was that we tried to order two specials, appetizer and desert, and after 5 minutes waitress would come back saying they are sold out, not a big deal as she took care of desert!!

Had a quick lunch here today and was blown away. The mussels steamed in a cast iron pot had a wondeful tomaoto broth with just enough chili to add a quick heat. The grilled toasted bread dipped in the broth was impossible to stop eating. The rainbow salad with apple cider vinegarette was a minimalist and colorful plate with very fresh red cabbage, sugar snap peas, radishes, carrot threads, and purple cauliflower. The mushroom flatbread with goat cheese was likewise outstanding. This place is a gem.

“Fantastic surprise for a hotel restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

Located in the Kimpton Palomar hotel in Chicago, this is a real gem. Being a foodie, am always wary of hotel restaurants, but the menu looked promising. Indoor and outdoor dining and a bar. Actuallly ate there 3 times during recent stay in Chicago it was so good. Creative tasty bites bursting with flavors and fresh local offerings. Extremely pleasant and helpful waiters. Think small, incredibly tasty plates: dates stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, crispy red lentil cakes, a superb medley of seafood with a tomato based sauce, a summer salad with baby strawberries and tender greens, etc. Seems you cannot make a bad selection here.

“Top Chef Creativity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Whenever there is an opportunity to enjoy an ingredient driven market to table eatery I am intrigued. Whenever there is an opportunity to see what a Top Chef contestant has been cooking I am THERE. Exec Chef Heather Terhune got it right with her social eatery concept. Had lunch at Sable and shared multiple small plates so we could try more things. Things come out when ready. Started with kale chips, their rainbow salad - truly fresh, a visually beautiful raw delight (I'm taking that idea home with me) dressed with a light apple cider vinaigrette, then tuna tartare, then perfectly seared scallops with an amazing chutney. OMG. I would go back to Chicago just to eat through the menu. I'll be back.
