I love restaurants where there are half-portions, and Sable Kitchen & Bar has a menu full of such things. What a great way to not overeat, yet be totally satisfied with a meal. There were 2 of us at dinner, and we shared 4 half-portions of different things. The fact that it's also local meat and produce is a plus. If you don't mind noise, sit in the bar. If you'd like something a little quieter, call for reservations and sit in the "kitchen" area.

Sable has it all -- a chic, contemporary atmosphere, a fantastic cocktail and wine menu and great, hearty food. The restaurant is in a bit of a touristy area but has a nice local feel. The food is mostly of the comfort variety but is layered and flavorful. Overall, this is a place for a fun and delicious night out.

“Upscale chicken & waffles (and more)”
Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

I stay the the Kimpton (in which this restaurant resides) every year for the Christmas holiday and one of the highlights is dining at Sable. I have had every meal here and they have all been exceptional.

Breakfast is a delight with some of the very best brewed coffee - ever. No matter what you order - it will be a winner.

Lunch - ditto

Dinner ... (sigh) What can I say other than it is almost transcendental. Try the chicken and waffles, you will NOT regret it. Then listen to your server and order anything that strikes your fancy, it will be delicious.

“Excellent Service and Tasty, Unique Dishes”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

First off, the service was great. Just what you want (and often don't receive) when you go out for a nice dinner. Our server was so courteous and patient. He provided suggestions, answered questions, came and went a million times while we decided which dish to try next. All the while there were various other staff members walking by filling water glasses and picking up dirty dishes. Very efficient and professional service.
On to the food. I love the idea of a place serving smaller portions that are meant to be shared. This allows you try a bunch of different dishes...and there are so many unique options you definitely want to try several. We started with a chilled corn soup, tried the seared scallops, beets, mac & cheese, curry veggies, and a few other equally tasty and inventive options. All of them were great, there was nothing we wish we hadn't ordered. And even with everything we tried there were tons of other options that looked equally as yummy...we just got full before we were able to taste every menu item.
Will definitely be back!
