As amateur foodies, we take eating very seriously when on vacation :) We decided to go on the food tour as a way to try a bunch of Chicago food that we didn't want to dedicate an entire meal to (deep dish pizza, hot dog etc). We chose this tour over the other Chicago tours as the Gold Coast one stops at the Purple Pig which we wanted to try, and because my partner is a big SNL fan so was excited to go to the billy goat tavern.

We're a young couple in our mid twenties, and the demographic was much older than us on the tour. For us, the pace of the tour was slow and the humor hokey. We also were uncomfortable with the hard sell given at the beginning of the tour as to why this was the best in Chicago - we were already all paying customers.

That said, we definitely were well fed and taken care of! Lynn is very friendly and clearly loves what he does.

My group of 6 had a wonderful time on the Loop Tastebud Tour. We were met at Pizano's Pizza by our tour guide, John, and also by Lynn, the owner of the company. John was an excellent guide, and we got to see a lot of the Loop area in addition to sampling some great food. You will be stuffed by the end of this tour, I promise! The cupcakes at Sugar Bliss are fantastic; I even went back the next day to try more. Tastebud is a well-run company that my entire group enjoyed and recommends. Thanks John!

Our family was very impressed with the tour. By the end of it we could hardly eat any more we were so full. We actually skipped dinner that night because we were still so full. The guide (who was also the founder) was very friendly and knowledgable.

Hubby and I had an afternoon to spend in Chicago between legs of an Amtrak journey, and this fit into our schedule perfectly. [Aug. 23, 2010 11am tour) Although we have lived in Chicago in the past, this tour still took us to new places (as well as a couple of old favorites) and gave us some new information, as well.

Our guide, Mike, did an excellent job of taking care of us (he even had all eleven of our names down pat in no time!), had a great attitude, and never made us feel rushed even though we ran toward the long side of the expected tour time...we were all having such a great time we tended to linger over things a bit.

All of the stops gave us tasty treats, and if anyone left the tour hungry it was their own fault! We couldn't have eaten another bite. We would highly recommend this tour to any of our friends!! Do be aware that there is quite a lot of walking. We went at a casual pace, but still covered a lot of territory.
