Everything was terrific at the hotel, and for a business trip, they provided all the needed services and more. We ended up renting one of the meeting rooms on the third floor, and they took care of all our needs. My only regret was not taking advantage of the 24-hour gym.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in July and it is a fairly new hotel in the city's loop district. It was an amazing experience. The lobby is immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are LARGE, COMFORTABLE and the bathrooms are among the best of any place I have stayed in. The only downside is that the valet parking was EXORBITANT, even for the Chicago prices...over $50 a night for valet and no affordable self parking options either, nearest lot is almost 2 blocks away and, while cheaper, with no in and out privileges it can add up as well. The room service and food was impeccable -- reasonably priced and great taste.

I am a platinum member with Marriott and this is one of the best. Gorgeous rooms, bathrooms and incredible gym. The service was awesome and staff is very friendly. Very cool lobby bar.

My wife and I dined at the Florentine 8/5/11 in the JW Marriott Chicago and they poisoned her. She stated she is a celiac patient and requires a gluten free diet. The chef came to the table personally and said he can prepare any pasta dish gluten free with his special "farro" pasta. He was wrong. On the back of the pasta package it is stamped, "This product contains wheat ingredients". She was violently ill that whole weekend and still afterwards. They charged us $150.00 and ruined our vacation. It looks like to me they do not know what they are doing.

This is a beautiful hotel that was apparently finished at the beginning of 2011. My basic room had a huge bath and a separate marble and glass shower. The wet bar was the nicest (and most expensive) I have ever seen. The hotel gym was great (but it seems like all big city Marriott gyms are the best in the hotel industry). The staff were a 10 on a 1 - 10 scale.

My only complaint is that the interior rooms only have a view of other interior rooms (see photo).

Room Tip: Get an exterior room if you want a view of anything.

The location is excellent for any Chicago visitors. The fitness center is one of the best i've seen in a hotel. Unfortunately the pool is not ready yet. The rooms are nice, smallish though because it's an old hotel. The views are average. Hotel staff extremely accommodating and the lobby is gorgeous.
