While visiting Chicago to celebrate our fiftieth wedding anniversary, my wife and I stumbled upon The Purple Pig. The place was jam packed and noisy, and one can understand why that is. The menu is amazing and the crowd has fun. The food was so good and interesting that we returned the next night for another dinner. I enjoyed the roasted bone marrow while my wife and I both enjoyed the lobster corn, Greek corn bread and pork shoulder. The Greek corn bread is an interesting combination of honey and feta chees. For dessert we had Loukomades and Iris. The former consists of small deep fried balls of dough covered with honey; the latter is a warm pastry bun stuffed with a creamy sweet cheese . Had we been in Chicago another night, we probably would have dined at The Purple Pig again.
