Very good food. Ordered 6 dishes- calamari, cauliflower, gyros, chicken kabob, meatballs, and homemade hot dog. All were good, but the calamari was the best. It was very fresh with an interesting presentation. The portions were appropriate, enough but not too much. 6 dishes was just right for 4 people for lunch. Would definitely go again.

A trip to Chicago is not complete without dining at The Purple Pig. We had a late dinner there after the Adele concert last week and this place always delivers. While it is deliciously meat heavy, I appreciate the amount of vegetarian options on the menu. The broccoli with garlic, toasted breadcrumbs, and anchovy vinaigrette is crazy good. Fried manchego was both creamy and crispy, nice combo, and we always enjoy the milk braised pork shoulder. Exceedingly tender but still with some texture.

An homage to gluttony. The shared-plates concept means you get to try lots of different things. Service is attentive but not overbearing, though the flurry of different staff serving and clearing you can be distracting. The extensive wine list is so large as to be overwhelming. Expect a wait, even late, but well worth it!
