We stayed in room 619 this past weekend from Friday to Sunday. The room had a figi soaking tub that was plenty big enough for two. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed that I had ever slept in. So much so that I checked out the label on the mattress, it was a selle Postropedic. We had bath robes and plenty of towels. The mini bar had a great selection and even the shampoo/conditioner was great. We had planned to stay at this hotel because we wanted a relaxing weekend away. I met my bf there who is currently working in Dallas and we rarely see each other. We splurged on the fancy room only to find out that there was a wedding reception directly below us Saturday night. It was so loud the room, bed, lights, we shaking. We could hear what people were saying and Shazam the songs from our room. It was not relaxing one bit and a total bummer. Had we had known prior that this would be the case, we would have stayed elsewhere or requested the best room they had up farther from the event. But we really wanted that bathtub. So we called down to the front desk not so much to complain but to see when the reception would be over. It still had another 2 hours left and I was not relaxing at all. We didn't want to ruin anyone's time or be "those people". They did offer to move us up to the 8th floor but that would have been a standard room with a double bed and moving at 10pm did not sound appealing. The manager Gad called us back and was truly apologetic. He wanted to make things right and ended up comping our second night. He also gave us great restaurant recommendations and we ended up leaving for a few hours just to get some quiet. Gad also let us have extended check out until 4 pm the next day at no charge. This was perfect since my bf flew out at 9pm. The moral of this lengthy story is that although we were really bummed about the dance party in our room, the manager went out of his way to make it right. I was SO BUMMED when it came time to leave and I have already begun looking for future dates to stay there. The pool was beautiful and the room service food (from Sable) was wonderful as well. All in all, a wonderful experience at the Palomar. After walking the magnif. mile, it was fantastic to bring a glass of wine down to the "living room" to warm up by the fire. Truly a great place.
