This is a great space with great food.
It's fast and delicious. And the margaritas were awesome!
The atmosphere is super casual and close - tables are very tight and you may share a table with another couple.
But everyone is there to eat!
The hostess is calm, and keeps it running smoothly.
I really enjoyed my lunch.

“Nice Place for Comida Auténtica”
Reviewed December 23, 2013 via mobile

This was a spur-of-the-moment trip, and we decided to visit this place because we walked passed it a few times looking for some place to eat, then it got cold, we were tired of walking, and I had seen it featured on the Food Network, so we figured, "Why not?"

Upon entering, the staff was quite amiable, greeted us promptly and showed us where the (very long) line started. We ordered the Caldo, which is a soup bowl with yummy veggies and for dessert we had their churros. Those were exceptional--super crunchy on the exterior, soft and chewy interior, and the cinnamon/sugar sprinkle was classic but still delicious. Will definitely be returning if I'm ever in the Windy City again.

“Had Breakfast Only”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

Egg and Chorizo Torta was off the charts. Got there early on a Saturday (8:10 am), and had no wait. Sandwich was perfection.....light, crispy bread, no oily sausage...really awesome. My wife thought the hot chocolate was too rich, ( it was) but if you fancy yourself a choc-o-holic, get a double. You can smell the chocolate a block away!!!!!

“Tortas to die for”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

If you love Rick Bayless and tortas you are going to love this place. The menu contains locally sourced and grown ingredients. The food is excellent. Make sure you try the horchata - so good! Be prepared to share the space with a lot of torta fans. It's a small space and they pack the people in. We had to share a table with strangers. I think that makes you eat a little faster but worth it for the yummy food. It's a must try for lunch.
