“Good location, good rate”
Reviewed July 27, 2011

We do a lot of corporate business with this hotel, which probably had a lot to do with the rate, but the rate I got was significantly lower than other hotels.

Something was amiss with my room during checkin, so they upgraded me to a "suite". Now for anyone that has stayed at Club Quarters and knows the size of the rooms the term "suite" is kind of laughable - it's about the same size as a normal room in other hotels. But the CQ continues to be a very clean and convenient hotel for business stays.

This was a great hotel! Parking wasn't a bad price and the room was big. I made sure to get one of the bigger rooms when booking because I was traveling with a one year old. I booked the one room suite with kitchenette. It had a king bed and a pull out couch. The kitchenette had a stove top, a toaster, a microwave, a fridge, and dishes! Perfect when traveling with a young one.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a bigger room. The standard rooms are rather small in this hotel.

I stayed here for 2 days for business. The room was SO small. It was fine with me for my limited stay in the actual room, but you had to move the desk chair to open the bathroom door! The room was clean, but there is no way you could have more than 1 person in there. The 2nd floor has a “living room” and I am sure that is for the claustrophobic people who had to get out of their small room. The living room has a lot of book and magazines. The lobby is also very inviting and relaxing.

Nearby is EVERYTHING you would want – shopping, restaurants, you name it. Very easy to get a taxi or get to busses, etc.

Great for business traveler – definitely not for families!

Room Tip: Your business/org has to be a "member" to stay here.

I was delighted to book at this hotel based upon what I had heard from my friend who has stayed at most of the better hotels in Chicago. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating, and it's clear that this is a very well-run hotel.

Yet, there are some details that left me wanting. The rooms, as many other reviewers have stated, are tiny. Mind you, they're clean, well-appointed rooms. But tiny. Also, on the Club Quarters side, there are only two elevators for approximately 20 or so floors, which makes getting up and down from your room a long process. Even worse, there is no service elevator, so the cleaning staff is using the same elevators as everyone else during check-out time. It took us nearly 15 minutes to get down one time!

Aside from these flaws, the hotel met our needs nicely. The view of the Chicago business district and the river are splendid, and there's a 7-11 and several excellent restaurants within a 5 minute amble should you want to eat. For a short trip, Club Quarters is a good choice for lodging in central Chicago.

We got transferred here fromthe Central loop location as there had been a flood. The staff were very helpful, sorting a taxi etc to aid in the transfer.
Once at the Wacker location, check-in was simple and quick and after a slight hiccup with the lift we got to our room overlooking the river. The room was clean and tidy with all the mod cons that you need. The bathroom was compact and clean.
Overall, the location is fabulous and the hotel very good. The laundry was an adventure but a useful bonus as it's free!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. It is an excellent location just across the river from the much more expensive mega hotels. This smaller boutique hotel has smallish rooms and is merely a nicely furnished, liveable scale place. It has the advantage of being near breakfast shops and convenience stores but also close to the Trump Hotel and Sheraton, Hyatt and Hilton for the conventions that regularly use Chicago's Magnificent Mile neighborhood shopping and energy for clients and convention parties. This small hotel is built in an older office building. Rooms are in the heart of Chicago and close to everything. The check in was fast and efficient, check out was great and service was handled well. Overall, great value and highly professional stay for business or leisure on a getaway. Go elsewhere if you want more space or better views, or have ideas of a vacation for coupes or kids. This is a fine place for a quick visit or simple business. great meeting rooms and internet access with printing and conference facilities. Great value and superb location.

Room Tip: Get an upper floor and check it out before checkin
