“Local Blues Bar with two stages and great drink prices”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Went here last week after we attempted to use our groupon for B.L.U.E.S which was a block away and closed for a week (not smart after you sell groupons a month prior!). We were happy to see admission prices about half of what you find down town. Drinks are priced right and the music was excellent. Two stages makes for non stop music and they had ample seating for everyone there. Very friendly staff and both bands where energetic and crowd friendly. They even had room to dance if that's your thing.

“Joanna Connor”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

During our 3 dayer in Chicago, a friend of ours told us about Kingston Mines. So we hopped in a taxi and headed over for dinner. He said we would enjoy ribs and blues. We went in and the place was sort of empty but there was a man and woman on stage playing acoustic guitar. We ordered a drink, and started to hear this woman play and sing. She was amazing! We hadn't heard blues like that in such a long time! The place started to fill up and her set was done. We were sad it was over. We finished dinner and decided to leave, but then we found out she was starting to play in the next room with a four piece band and electric guitar. We stayed and heard her next set. We were so impressed, we bought her CD and she even autographed it! She just blew us away with her voice and guitar playing. Great band. I have a Tshirt that will always remind me of our Chicago Blues trip.

“Chicago Blues”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

On a Saturday night this bar is packed. If you arrive after 9:00 P.M., expect to stand for a while. There are two rooms, and the music is non stop switching for room to room until 4:30 in the morning.

“Good blues bar”
Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Not the best - but a good fun joint with 2 stages. We saw Joanna Connor & Blyther Smith; the former was a great rock guitarist (not really blues) and the latter was more like the blues. Not too pricy $15 cover but we got a voucher from Chicago magazine so each paid $12

“Chicago blues birthday”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

My mother & I went to Chicago to celebrate our birthdays. We both love the blues. Our doorman at our hotel said it was a great place to go & gave us coupons. Nice mixed crowd of all ages , locals & tourists. Staff was great! The music...fantastic! 2 stages 2 bands! Joanna Connor is an outstanding guitar player! We danced until they closed at 4am! Will definitely go back next time we are in Chicago!
