We ate here on a busy Saturday night and this restaurant definitely had some positives and negatives:

POSITIVES:

-- Prompt seating
-- Friendly service
-- The pork buns were the highlight of our meal
-- Really nice ambience

NEGATIVES:

--The food was good but not great. We had the lemongrass beef lollipops -- we wanted to love them more than we did. The pad thai was OK -- not enough noodles and the chicken was overcooked.

I would probably go back but I wouldn't be rushing to do so. Also -- I found it interesting how dressed up people got to dine here.

One of the best places in town for East Asian Food with a full Sushi Bar. I really don't know which dish to mention as all the dishes were Excellent be it the Rock Shrimp Tempura, Malay Chilean Sea Bass or Pan Roasted Duck Breast. Only word of caution is that please book your table in advance as although we went on a weekday and had a booking but still had to wait a while to get a table, not that one minds is the food is this good

We made a reservation for 8 pm. When we arrived, the valet promptly took our car and the host was pleasant. We were seated at a community table which I initially thought would be a problem but it was wonderful. The atmosphere is hip, lively and colorful. The service was outstanding. It is very loud in the restaurant but our server was very clear. She made wonderful suggestions...the brussel sprout salad and scorpion roll were divine! Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Would recommend without reservation. A great place for a group to share plates and experience unique asian fusion.

My wife and visited on the recommendation of the concierge at the Trump Tower hotel. We love fusion food and this place has a great buzz and excellent service. We liked it so much that we returned here on our last night. Sharing plates work well and the waiting staff were very helpful with suggesting choices. There is a Japanese influence but many others as well. When we returned on Saturday evening, the buzz was by the time we left getting a bit too loud for serious conversation so mid week is probably better. This was our favorite Chicago restaurant.

We enjoyed Sunda a lot. The food presentation was beautiful, the taste excellant. Choices are many from fresh sushi as well as many other dishes. The only negative was the noise level. We ate outside and had a very pleasing experience .
