I stayed here three days for business and the location was within walking distance from where I had to be. I decided to take the blue M line from O'Hare International airport and that worked out OK. It took longer then expected and required walking a couple of blocks through the freezing cold. In rush hour traffic this might have been faster, but I got in late at night.

The check in was fast and friendly and my room was clean. Contrary to most hotels in this category it has a huge walk in shower the width of a typical bath tub space. There is no bath tub. That is fine with me - but maybe not for others.

The free included breakfast was decent, and you could make your own waffles. Unlike some other chains they also offered bacon, eggs and breakfast sausages

I have reviewed this hotel earlier and was back in Feb. 2013 again. The rooms are still comfortable and clean; the staff are still friendly and accomodating; the breakfast service is still great--and you still need to be there on time or else!

We were in Chicago for a couple of operas at the Lyric Opera (one block away) as well as a northside concert and some museum/art institute time. Our room this time was on the 7th floor on the wing of the hotel that reaches back into mid-block. The result was that while it was nicely quiet most of the time, we did notice the El trains on the Wells Street (the sound coming up the alley). The room appointments are nice, but not luxurious; strangely no conditioner along with the shampoo and, some time spent in getting decaf pods for the Keurig machine. (We did have some with us so it was no big problem.) The breakfast service was fine, as usual, except that on the weekend morning, there were no scrambled eggs; only biscuits and gravy with either the sausage or bacon.

The positive plus that brings us back is not just the location and the comfort but also some of the long time staff. The two ladies who preside over the breakfast service (they overlap on days off so one at least is always there) are great folks. We were greeted the first morning including reference to where we were from and how they'd not seen us since last year. Another regular is David--who keeps an eye on things generally and helps with luggage, directions and a lot of special requests. The people here make a big difference

Room Tip: upper floors may be quieter

This was my first time staying at a La Quinta.

I booked a trip to Chicago with a couple of friends and my wife dowtown to see a show at the Chicago Theater and decided we should just stay the night.

I was in charge of booking the hotel which is a good choice :)

Read lots of reviews, compared amenities and prices and settled on this one. We loved it.

Clean, modern, impressive. Good service with a smile. Small rooms, but we had a Keurig Coffe machine which was nice since my wife is addcited to those coffees.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone not looking to spend a ton on a hotel downtown, who just needs a clean, comfortable place to sleep and shower.
