Looking for a great restaurant on a Sunday night. Everyone's fav's were closed. Luckily we found L2o. A four hour meal with 13 courses including spectator wines. The finest small plates I have ever eaten. The service was impeccable. Don't miss this one the next time your in the Windy City.

This restaurant is a special occaision destination. The only restaurant experience that I've had like this was at Guy Savoy in Paris, which is one of the best restaurants in the world.

It started a little bad since they didn't have our reservation. They had tried to call our hotel that had made the reservation for us with some question, but hadn't gotten an answer. So they didn't mark our reservation in the book. But we were early, the first people there, and they were able to seat us with no other problem. But we were initially concerned we wouldn't get to experience it.

The restaurant is small, but well laid out to offer a decent amount of privacy to each table. Before dinner drinks were great. We decided on the smaller tasting menu, so we were able to try several different dishes but not so many to give us a taste overload. Each one was superb, and each was delightfully different and unique. We ordered a wonderful bottle of Paul Pernot Batard Montrachet to go with it, recommended by one of the very knowledgeable sommeliers. It was outstanding.

The service was fantastic. Our server ordered a cab for us at the end of the evening, and when it got taken by another couple, she even chased down another cab for us. She was truly a server that is fitting for such dining excellence.

All in all, it was a true fine dining experience. It is expensive, so be prepared. The plates contain small amounts of food and are very artsy, so if that isn't what you're looking for, don't go there. If you're looking for a steak dinner or a plate of pasta, this is not the place.

But if you have a special occasion, or just want to experience an evening of unique and tasty dishes in a small, upscale restaurant staffed by attentive servers, you couldn't go wrong here.

Memorable meal--highly recommended for a special occasion.

Location is inside a hotel and has no view, but is decorated very tastefully and has a dimmed, upscale atmosphere.

Dishes were fairly good, though not the best--the lobster tail had a lasting fishy aftertaste. Other dishes were unique and fantastic, like the avocado/caviar/jelly dish.

Service is superb, with the staff acting in synchronized manner to deliver and put finishing touches on each dish.

Most people come as pairs, though we managed to reserve a table for 5. Dress is usually cocktail dresses and suits, but no one complained about nice jeans and a dress shirt.

Price is somewhat high, though the assortment of dishes that comes with it is impressive.

Very elegant and romantic atmosphere with delicious seafood dishes and first-rate service, it made for a very relaxing and satisfying evening. We will definitely go gain on our next visit to Chicago!

our first trip back to L2O since laurent left and it was marvelous.
every course was great, i especially liked all the shellfish courses, really special.
we did the extensive tasting menu with wine pairings and there wasn't a single course or wine pairing that wasn't excellent. all in all a lovely evening.
even better than i remember it being with laurent gras in the kitchen.
