From all the websites I didn't think this was going to be as good as it was. Plus the Double tree brand had me hesitiate. We are so glad we booked here. It is very central to all sorts of sight seeing. Walking distance to the River walk, The Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, The theator. Parking is expensive $56 a night. We upgraded to a suite and were totally thrilled with it. Staying here can get you into the Top rated roof top bar. We went on a Thursday with no problem but Friday there was a huge line! The only complaint I have is we asked them to restock our bar twice and they never did. The staff is so friendly they go out of their way to help you find a fun thing to do.

Room Tip: The higher the better because of the commuter trains runs right underneath. You can hear it but it j...

My wife and I thought this hotel to be the best in Chicago; the room was modern and chic, the corner room had a great view, the staff and hotel ammenities were all more than we expected. We will return and I recommend this hotel to my friends.

The bathroom lighting was not very bright for putting on makeup even with the plug in mirror. The dimmer light switch did not have a knob nor did it turn fully off. I needed to request hair conditioner, it took two calls and over 90 minutes of waiting.

I come to Chicago a lot for business however have never stayed downtown (inside the loop). My business always keeps me out by the airport or on the fringe of the city. My wife and I were coming in for a getaway weekend and I selected theWit as our hotel based on recommendations from some friends and business colleagues. This is more than a hotel but an experience.

The hotel is amazing. It's just a block or two off Wacker Dr. at the corner of State and Lake. There is a CTA station at that street corner and it's centrally located in downtown. The "Mile" is just a quick walk uptown. We were able to get an upgraded room on the 23rd floor which included a separate living room, spa-like bathroom with a jacuzzi and a view of the Chicago River. The room was extremely clean and well equipped. Wi-Fi in the hotel was fast and easy to use. The room had everything that you would expect in a fine higher end hotel.

Their first floor restaurant - State/Lake is a awesome craftsman experience. We had breakfast several times and Brunch on Sunday. It was an amazing experience. The Club on the roof was amazing. As a guest you get a VIP pass for the club. It's a good time. We invited some friends over and had a great night upstairs.

Overall the experience was great. I will stay here again the next time I'm in Chicago. Specifically I wanted to call out some exceptional employees: Alex and Danielle at the front desk and their concierge, Joel. They take hospitality to the next level. Thank you Wit and we'll be back!

Room Tip: If you can get an upgrade - do it. 2312 is an great room!!!

You couldn't ask for a more modern, cleaner hotel in the Loop. But unlike some other hotels in the Loop of equal decor and cleanliness (e.g., The Kimpton Allegro), this hotel charges for internet service (if you sign up for Kimpton rewards you get it for free), doesn't give you any free coffee, and I just felt like the staff wasn't as friendly. I stay in Chicago all the time for business. I'd recommend The Wit as an alternative, but don't expect to get a deal or feel like you've been pampered here.

Hi Josh,

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at theWit Hotel Chicago. Guests like you remind us of the importance of polite, friendly and efficient customer service. We take this feedback seriously, are sharing with our team and will make every effort to improve our service. In regards to the Internet charges, we have installed robust bandwidth and sophisticated technology to enable our guest to download games along with music and movie streaming and other rich media. Unfortunately, we do have to pass along these costs when using the technology in-room. theWit does, however, offer free Internet access on the first two floors for all of our guests. We do welcome you back to theWit and thank you again for your review, Josh.

Best,
theWit Guest Relations

TheWit is a great choice if you want to be in the Theater District in Chicago. It is located within blocks of all of the major theaters and theater district restaurants. It is also well-located to the El and Subway if you want to utilize public transportation.

The hotel is relatively new and very contemporary. There is a small street level lobby, and a 3 meal per day restaurant and lounge just off the lobby. There is an additional restaruant on the second floor, and a really cool lounge on the roof. You have to go up to the roof lounge just to check it out.

The rooms are very comfortable and contemporary. My room had a king bed and fainting couch, and a nice big flat screen TV. One thing I really appreciated was a window that opens! Of course, the hotel is right on the El, so it is a bit noisy with the window open, but it is sure nice to have that option. The bathroom was well-appointed with a cool contenporary sink and a shower rather than a tub/shower combination. Everything in the room was pristine.

Service was great. Check in was smooth and the bellmen were great. I did not eat in the restaurants, but got coffee in the first floor restaurant and the folks in there were very friendly.
