The Loop trains are right outside the hotel, as well as the RED line is next door to the hotel as well, very convenient for traveling the city. Hotel is in a very safe area and right next door to the Chicago theater. Door Staff was very welcoming each and every time we would come and go. Check In staff was very courteous and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. This may have been the best hotel I have stayed at in any city, work or play. This hotel is truly a gem and well worth it for its location to the entire city. We will definitely be staying here next time we visit Chicago.

Will always rebook at this hotel. Walking to meetings on both sides of river was a breeze. In theatre district so around the corner from the Oriental Theatre - saw "Big Fish" on a Saturday afternoon. Did some shopping in that area and up the Mile. Scores an A+ on location.

Front staff were attentive and friendly EVERY time we came back in. We had a one bedroom suite on the 23rd floor. Views were beautiful and room was spotless. On the Sunday morning we had people rappelling down our windows as their was a fundraiser for the Respiratory Health Assoc. We opened the curtains to encourage them as they scaled downward.

Breakfast was very good with good service and the quality was better than standard breakfast.

Loved the chirping birds in the hallway - great touch we kept listening for. As a Diamond member, we highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask to stay away from the side with the train running past it unless you're not bothered by the...

Great location to the "L" as well as the Loop area and downtown in general. Everything is within walking distance. Hotel staff is very courteous and knowledgeable of the City. Breakfast was delicious at the attached restraunt and a great benefit for Hilton Rewards members. Best hotel I ever stayed in while in Chicago. Will definitely stay at this hotel next trip to Chicago

I usually stay at the Renaissance across the street, and decided to try the Wit. It was a nice change. It has a boutique feel. The staff are very helpful. The bar, State and Lake, feels like a local hang-out. That was a great change from the usual "hotel bar/restaurant" atmosphere. I'd stay there again.

We were there to see a concert next door at the Chicago Theatre. Convenient doesn't get any better than next door! I had stayed there before on business, this was strictly pleasure. From checkin to checkout, every single Wit employee we dealt with, every one from front desk to concierge to bellhop to lower bar to upper bar to breakfast to afternoon appetizers to dinner was courteous and friendly and accomodating. That area of Chicago is just great, lots to do and see and all safely walkable, one block off the river. The room was fine. We were on the 12th floor. We were a bit concerned about rail noise but really never noticed it. We taxi-ed in from O'Hare - just really easy and convenient. 3 day jaunt without a single negative comment - pretty unusual.

Room Tip: Guessing higher up is better from a noise standpoint - we were on 12 and it was ok.

Great overall experience. Location couldn’t be better.

Door Staff: A++++, we had turned down the side street a block down and doubled parked, I ran in hotel to see about parking, by the time I came back outside a staffer was saying don’t worry, I’ll stay here until valet comes. Saved us the headache of circling around to pull in front. Each time we arrived at Hotel, Door staff was there with open umbrella. We had a smoker with us, he was outside, the door staff walked over and held the umbrella so he smoke without getting wet. They gave our group 2 outstanding suggestions for Food, both in walking distance.

Front Desk: A, hot cookie handed to us as he said Welcome. Check in was seamless and fast.

Rooms: C+, a bit small, but Clean. View was of a wall and air handling equipment.

Elevators: F, 1 of them would get to 1st floor, open half way then close and go to 2nd floor. This happened to everyone in our group multiple times. Another elevator would go up fine, but on the way down it would stop at every floor, with no one waiting board, again multiple times.

Lobby Bar: A, food was good, reasonable, fast. Staff was great. Bartenders we so-so, got the impression that I was interrupting them, when I wanted to order a drink, Isn’t that the purpose of a bartender – to serve drinks?

Rooftop Bar: B, Great bartenders and wait staff!!! However, I saw an article saying one of top 3 rooftop bars in the world. Ya Right, the reviewer either owns stock or is college roommate of the owner. The person saying that must never have been to New York, or Hong Kong or Singapore or Vegas or LA or Atlanta – all which I’ve been to rooftop bars that blow this one away in every aspect. But still, it is a nice bar just overrated.

Overall:B+, would stay here again if the price stays under $200, over that there are better hotels for that price range in the same area.

Our stay at the WIT was an amazing experience! The WIT is not your ordinary hotel. It is a jewel. The hotel is modern and upscale yet extremely comfortable. You are warmly greeted by the staff as you walk by the front desk, bell stand and enter the hotel. Breakfast at "State and Lake" is an event. The breakfast entrees have a creative spin on the usual fare. I would recommend this hotel to everyone coming to Chicago for business or a getaway weekend. One of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in...
