Due to a weather problem in the NE, our flight was canceled and we were rerouted via Chicago. Landing in an unexpected city at 7PM on any night can cause hotel problems, but this was New Year's Eve at about as large an airport as you can get. I was unable to secure rooms at either of our loyalty program chains and seeing as the Hilton was right across the street we called Hilton reservations to see if we could get a room.

A king non-smoking was available at $139, which worldwide, is a terrific price for a full service airport hotel. I'm glad we called central reservations as our entry to their main foyer was met with a sea of people waiting to try to get a room. I simply walked over to the auto check-in kiosk and had our room and keys within a minute.

While not large, our room was typically spacious with a good tv, a small sitting area including a comfy yet modern style recliner. An extra blanket was found in the closet. There is good temperature control for the room. We like it cold and that was possible (many hotels don't seem to want you to be cool in the winter).

The bathroom was tight and doesn't really accommodate two people unless one is in the tub/shower. It is a good shower.

The bed was typical Hilton Airport style, which is good... soft but firm under the pillowtop.

The hotel includes a sandwich shop (closed when we were there), a bar area with typical bar food, and a restaurant (Andiamo's) which serves decent Italian cuisine (I'll try to review that one separately).

This is a large hotel. IIRC 6 floors of about 100 (?) rooms per floor. Even so, it doesn't take too many canceled flights to fill it up... One broken A380 or two delayed 747's would do the trick. So... don't be tempted by the fact that the hotel is right across the street so you "may as well walk there and see if they have a room". Call for a reservation as soon as you see you will need one.

This Hilton slides nicely into line with the other great Hilton airport stays I've had in London and Copenhagen. I'd certainly stay here again. Hopefully it would be on purpose next time. :-)

The location of the hotel is fabulous -- it's an underground walk-way from any of the terminals. The hotel itself was decent -- the rooms were clean and relatively modern. The soundproofing was great -- my room faced one of the terminals and the airport train, and I didn't have problems sleeping at night. There was a comfortable desk to do work at, and the high-speed internet connection was reliable. I've stayed at a few of the other O'Hare hotels (Westin, ALoft, etc), and given the combination of location & amenities, I would definitely choose this one again.

United provided us a voucher for this hotel, which can be reached without leaving the airport premises (nice in the cold winter). The room was very clean, nice, and quiet. We only were able to sleep for a limited amount of time due to our flight early the next morning, but we had no complaints. The room was spacious, the bed soft, the bathroom clean, and the location perfect (if you have an early flight).

Good location, Bell service was exceptional. Room was really tiny, two adults couldn't pass side by side thru the room. Double beds! I didn't even know those were still in production. The room was loud, not from the airport, but from the halls and nearby rooms. Still, you can't beat the proximity. I had a better room in this hotel when I had a cancelled flight a while back, so I am giving the benefit of the doubt.

When its snowing in Chicago, does it really make sense to take a $50 cab to Downtown when you have a connecting flight or wait for a hotel shuttle bus at the "nearby" properties? That's why the Ohare Hilton Makes Sense. Nothing fancy but the rooms are clean, comfortable and yes, extremely quiet despite being at the airport. Sports bar downstairs and a good workout facility at the lower level. Best of all, an indoor walk to your terminal for your connecting flights (lots of interactive flight status boards at hotel as well). This property is worth the extra dime for convenience and location.
