“Decent airport hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

I have stayed here because my flight was delayed to the next day and the airline offered me one free night.

I feel very comfortable staying here. The most important part is that it's inside the airport, so it only took me ~20mins walk to catch the next day's early morning flight.

Good place to stay if you have a tight schedule.

It is a nice hotel. I stayed for one night for free. The room was big and they offered me free breakfast and drink. The whole family pretty enjoyed it. The restaurant in the hotel is nice too. Next time if you want to take a break in ord airport, the ord hilton would be a good choice. It is inside the airport and couple minuets to check in.

We had an overnight stay to visit the city for a day and were able to drop off our luggage in the baggage room for the day at about 7 AM--hours ahead of check in, which was very convenient. However, several people studied our reservation confirmation sheet very carefully first so have it handy. Tried to grab a cup of coffee at the "caffe" before getting on the train into town but the line was long and not moving at all.

The room was fine though on the small side; very clean and had a nice TV. We were on the 5th floor, facing some sort of tower that was lite up with purple spotlights. Even with the light blocking drapes some of the purple glow leaked through, though this probably wouldn't be a problem for most people. I could easily hear planes taking off; again, probably not so loud as to bother most people but I am a very light sleeper.

The place "nickles and dimes" you for everything--had considered asking for a room facing the runways in order to watch planes taking off (which I love) but there was an extra charge, and of course no free WiFi. I do not necessarily mind paying for what I use, and know they want to have a way to reward travelers with these perqs, but just be aware.

Would stay there again but only for the convenience or if someone else was paying.

Dear CarOlinaGrl:

We thank you for your feedback which you provided about our hotel on Trip Advisor, which we assure you is shared with our management team.

The airport control tower in front of our hotel has pink spot lights shining on to it for the month of October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. We apologize if the light disturbed your rest due to the drapes not completely closing in your room.

We appreciate your staying with us and hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Sincerely,

Anna Falco

This was a really nice place to stay it was just outside terminal 2 , I ordered room service which was friendly and prompt, the burger was ok, but the carrot cake was really good. I had a view of the airport so i enjoyed watch the planes land and take off. You had a little noise from that but i liked that. The control tower was right outside the window and that was neat to see. I had an early morning flight and it was really convienient to walk out the back entrance and across the street directly to terminal 2 where i needed to be.

I sat for amoment flipping back and forth between average and very good. I am picky about my hotels, and this one met my needs. Tried to be up-to-date, but the shower was notupdated, popcorn ceilings. Furniture, bed, and bathroom was newer. Clean and comfortable. The food in from room service was miserable. Overall, an average stay in a hotel in the middle of an airport.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights prior to an early flight out of ORD. As well as the time saving prior to the early flight from travelling, I also saved an awful large amount of money by staying here over downtown Chicago, as hotels (when I was booking) where typically double the cost. The hotel is is well located to all terminals as well as the L- Chicagos subway system, running through to downtown (journey around 50 minutes) running 24 hours a day.

I stayed in a twin room that was clean and the usual in room amenities for a Hilton can be found. Coffee maker, air conditioning, TV, Ice bucket, writing desk and safe. A very comfortable leather reclining chair with table was also in the room. Our room overlooked the runway however no sound was heard. The beds where also very comfortable.
Wi-fi in rooms is chargeable however, unless you hold status with Hiltons frequent stay program. I am a member and as such saved on this cost. Just something to keep in mind in case you expected it (which to be fair, most hotel provide this free of charge anyway!)
Despite the bathroom being a little small in comparison to the bedroom it was clean and fine for my needs with the usual toiletries available.

Breakfast is served on the main level in the form of a buffet, with drinks brought to the table.

I recommenced this hotel for anyone flying out of ORD early in the morning due to the very handy location, as well as anyone looking for a decent well known hotel that doesn't want to pay through the nose for a downtown location. Sure you have to use the metro, but the saving more then made up for this for me.

We have stayed at this hotel before when having a lay-over between flights out of O'Hare and were always very pleased; however, in our 2 stays earlier this month, the hotel seemed to be lacking in a few areas. We had trouble with logging into the Wi-Fi and finally gave up and decided to use the free access in the lobby, but why is this placed in a very busy lobby area with absolutely no privacy. Maybe I am showing my age, but I don't like checking my email where anyone can see everything.
Because we are loyality members we receive free full breakfast at the Andiamo restaurant every morning. The breakfast choices never change, but there is a good variety of hot and cold foods; however, the restaurant is so cold (it couldn't have been more than 60 degrees each and every time we were there) that we rushed through our meals and if we had anything hot, it was cold by the time it arrived at our table. We will not be going to this restaurant again whether it is included in the price of the room or not.
We also were very disappointed that there was no Executive Lounge are for loyality members and we are starting to wonder why we bother with the program anymore.
I would recommend this hotel for a short lay-over as it is very conveniently located right at the airport and also is convenient for taking the train into downtown, but Hilton also has another hotel just a short shuttle ride away and we will probably give this one a try if we travel through O'Hare in the future.

Dear stilltraveling3:

Thank you for the comments which you shared about our hotel on Trip Advisor. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused to you due to the difficulty you experienced getting WiFi service from your guestroom. We do offer an I.T. Help Line and are very sorry if this was not communicated to you. The connectivity stations in our lobby are a Hilton standard and offered based on the current demands and needs of travelers.

We are also very sorry for the temperature in our restaurant being uncomfortable for you. The hotel is on a two pipe system and can either be on cooling or heating. We do our best to set the temperature at an average that would be comfortable for the majority. Be assured, however, that your comments are being shared with our appropriate management as we feel badly that your overall restaurant experience was not enjoyable as a result of this and that we were not able to make things right for you while you were here.

We value your loyalty as HHonors members and hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you better in the future.
