“Food horrible,hotel OK”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

I stayed here over night and had dinner at their sports bar (Sports Edition) and the breakfast the next day at their Italian restaurant that is also their best breakfast place. Both meals were just dreadful. The dinner was over $70 for a one beer (good beer), an order of calamari (super greasy, no flavor, ran out of dips which were supposed to be there), and one pulled pork sandwich which the waitress recommended, and was just terrible-hardly any meat-literally like one ounce-burned stale bun and a pickle. Really. I wouldn't mind the price if any of the food was decent, but it all was terrible and the poor server was so behind, it took over 2 hours to get my food and pay my bill. Then breakfast the next morning with the buffet-$24 for the same thing many lower end restaurants put out for free-and again, just bad food. The pastries looked OK, and the orange juice tasted fresh, but besides that, just junk.

Dear hmbcacoastsider:

Thank you for the feedback you provided about our hotel on Trip Advisor. We are very sorry for the poor experience you had with our Andiamo and Sports Edition restaurants and assure you that your comments are being shared with our Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef in our continual efforts to make improvements where needed as this is not typical of the high quality of food we strive to offer here. We appreciate your bringing this to our attention.

We hope that you will allow us another opportunity to serve you better in the future.

Sincerely,

Great hotel. The rooms are a little bit smaller than what I am use to.
Very clean. Nice staff. A little confusing to get at first. But, after a couple of trips it's easy to find.
We went to the Rivers Casino for a fun night of food and games.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor. Facing the airport. The 9th or 10th would have been better if you like t...

Great place to stay and extremely convenient to the airport. Staff is very friendly and helpful. A little confusing in the dark as to where to go to get to the airport from the baggage claim but overall excellent!

We used this hotel for our trip to Boston and left the car parked in their parking deck while gone 8 days. A great deal with hotel one night and 8 days of parking and a free shuttle to and from the airport. The hotel is very nice and plenty of options for eating within the hotel itself. Staff was very friendly and helpful both the valet and the welcome desk. Highly recommend if you need a place to park your car for any length of time and way less expensive then the daily rates at the airport.

The work out room at the Hilton O'Hare is among the best in any business hotel. It would hold its own with most local (not mega) gyms. There are a lot of the usual aerobic machines, but where it really shines is a huge range of free weights and machines. They also have a fair amount of gear and space for body weight workouts. You should be able to maintain or bump up your home routine here without a lot of creative adaption. The staff said that it is possible to use the gym on a drop in fee (discounted for HHonors). Thus, if you have TSA pre-check you could get in a work out during a long lay over.
The hotel rooms are completely fine and other services and food are great.

We're happy to read the comments you posted about our Fitness Center on Trip Advisor. We take pride in our product and the services we provide there. We recently installed all brand new cardio equipment, resistance machines and free weights and are now renovating our pool area to enhance the guest's experience. Can't fault the staff or location and great service too on check-in. It is pricey though and the buffet breakfast is poor value with just melon and pineapple available as the fresh fruit selection. The hot buffet looked very greasy too. The Sports Bar has been remodelled since my last visit (several years ago now to be honest) but gone is the 'cosy relaxed feel of a real sports bar and in has come a rather 'harder' feel and the menu is a bit 'trendy' for a sports bar (I.M.O). Overall though its a good hotel with clean rooms and an excellent front desk.

Ideal location! Connected to both the airport and the train into the city. Surprisingly quiet, despite offering the chance to look from your room at planes landing and taking off. Very responsive and attentive staff. Very clean.
