Usual Holiday inn Express: small rooms, breakfast, wifi. Pros: central location, bonus for platinum members of Priorityclub in a form of 2500 points per stay, good prices. No obious cons. The room is not large, no upgrade is available, etc. I would definetely come there back again.

Location: very good location, only two quarters to Magnificent Mile, 15 min walt to Loop and Millenium park.
Room: small, but ok and clean. We had everything what we needed. Toiletries: shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner. Free coffe, tee in the room. TV and hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi as Platinum member.
Service: Important component of each hotel is its staff. Cass hotel has great staff. They are really friendly and helpful.
Breakfast: tasty and enough choices.

Very good! Come back there with pleasure.

The hotel is located between Mag mile and La Salle in a perfect location. There are many hotels in the area but the prices will likely be higher. This is an utilitarian hotel, do not expect pampering here. At 85$/night it is great value downtown Chicago, including wifi and breakfast. Two blocks away from Grand station makes it easily accessible by public transit and with the traffic in Chicago usually congested you are better off avoiding the cabs from the airport (35 - 40 $ one way to Midway ). Keep in mind that there are two taxes charged by all hotels that total about 20% on top of the posted rate! I would say this hotel will give u a true taste of Chicago; lots of noise from emergency vehicles and drivers honking... with older hvac units there is that noise as well.... that being said bring ear plugs. Even so I still recommend this hotel for shopping trips,a family trip, a night out on the town or just a quick visit. Not so much for a romantic getaway...

Room Tip: Get a room on a higher floor

Conveniently located but that's about it.
Free breakfast was good actually.
Room tiny! I really took my cat and could not swing it!!!
Funny old posters from The Cass Hotel give weekly rates of $10!

Room Tip: go for twins or go somewhere else

Front desk did not recognize Platinum status and did not offer any elite benefits. The clerk who checked me in and out was unfriendly and cold. I was given a room so tiny that my walk-in closet at home is bigger! Internet connection required re-logging in every time the laptop reawakened from hibernation, which was annoying and time-consuming. The queen bed was one of the worst I have slept in, totally unsupportive and with a deep sag in the middle. Bathroom amenities were poorly supplied with some items missing. The climate control system was very uncomfortable ... it was loud, and alternated between blowing hot and cold air which was very strange. Soundproofing in the room was very poor, and noises from the street and from the hallway were both clearly and disturbingly audible. Breakfast was indifferent, they were out of hot water for tea, the omelets had been sitting in the chafing-dish for so long that they were leathery, and the bananas were bruised and over-ripe. The only good thing was the location.
