“Could not have been happier”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

I could not have been happier. 2.5 blocks from the red line, .5 blocks off of the center of the Magnificent Mile, attached to Geno's, 2 blocks from Giordano's Pizza, 4 blocks from the Hancock Tower, .75 miles from the Wrigley building. Overall, the best location. Short taxi ride from anything else, but walking is most definitely possible (after 6 miles of walking during the day, the taxi rides can come in handy!).

The hotel itself is unique and QUIET. We were originally booked for a lower floor, but upon checking in, since it was a weekday, we were upgraded to the 28th (out of 29) floor. We had a corner room, beneath the rooftop bar (which was very nice). By the time of the weekend, the hotel was booked and Saturday night, when we got off of the elevator, we heard loud, booming music coming from the next room over with many people in the room. My most recent stay at another hotel in another city had housed a similar situation and led to a very rough night with several calls to the front desk and little sleep. I was extremely worried, but as soon we closed the door to our room, we could hear NOTHING through the wall and no vibrating from the bass of the music. Sure, you will get hall noise at times, but that is to be expected. The way the room was situated, with the bed far away and on another level within the room, it was just fine. When I tried to explain to the front desk how happy I was with the room and how quiet it was, they could not understand that I was giving a compliment! They kept telling me that I should have called to have them visit the next room, to which I kept saying that was my point...that I did not have to. It was wonderful. The check in was the friendliest I have come across and they check in with you at your room about 10 minutes after you arrive to make sure everything is there. If I had to make any suggestions, I would suggest possibly softer mattresses...but hey, if that is the worst complaint that I have, I think it says a lot for the hotel compared to other places I have stayed. I enjoy that you are able to leave bags at the front free of charge on the days you check out. You can also receive discount coupons for various activities at the front desk, like the Hancock tower.

Side note about activities, if you are looking for things to do. Architectural boat tours are amazing. We used Wendella boats...half the price of other tours, and it was amazing at sunset (and the fact that a huge storm had just passed and you could see the lightning in the distance). It the same price for several of their tours, so look and compare. The Willis tower of course was amazing, but it took 2.5 hours to get to the top whereas the Hancock tower took 20 minutes for the same price and offered shoreline views which were breathtaking. Giordano's and Lou Malnati's pizza were fantastic. I'll let you be the judge as to which is better. We never had a chance to try Geno's even though is was next door. Portillo's was amazing, and the area is very cool. Wrigley Field was an experience. Overall, can't wait to go back and we will definitely stay at MileNorth again!

Room Tip: The building is between other, taller buildings. So even if you have a high room, like we did, you...

We stayed at the Mile North hotel in Chicago the first week in September. Dora at the front desk was exceptional. She helped us in planning tours, dinner reservations, room details and locations as well as greeting us everytime we walked in. We were able to get an early check-in the day we arrived which was nice to be able to freshen up before heading out for the day. She gave us directions as to where we wanted to go and made suggestions on things to see and places to eat. Our rooms were very nice and right next to each other which was great for 4 women traveling together. The location is also wonderful, just 1/2 block off the Magnificant Mile or Michigan Avenue. Several great restaurants are in the area as well. I have stayed here once before this and will definately do it again! Thanks for the great time.

I slept like a baby in the beds at this hotel, the food was good, the staff was friendly and its in a good neighborhood. I arrived very late (1am) and needed to go to a store to get a few things, the staff was great with the directions, and I walked a little over a block to a walgreens and felt perfectly safe. The hotel is close to the river and a lot of other attractions. I def recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had done some searching for a nice place to stay downtown at a reasonable price for our anniversary. From the on-line photos and customer reviews, Mile North seemed like a good option and the price was far better (found on hotels.com) than many others. We arrived at the hotel about an hour bf check-in and the woman at the desk was very friendly. She told us that she would look for a room that was available bf check-in AND gave us a FREE UPGRADE to a nicer room!!!! We have a beautiful city view out both the bedroom and living room windows, a couch w/pull-out sofa, desk in a separate/raised area of the room, king bed and radio w/iPod doc- all this and only steps from Michigan Ave's Magnificent Mile. It was well worth every penny of the price! Another great feature is their indoor/outdoor rooftop bar. More great city views while enjoying a cozy outdoor space for a few cocktails and food. Can't believe they offer this as well. One minor minus is that they don't have room service, only to-go meals from their restaurant. The service and staff were GREAT and I will definitely return!!!

Loved this hotel. Big rooms, great location, what more could you want. Had the best nights sleep of our whole trip so far. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is superb, easy walking distance to lots of great attractions.
Would loved to have stayed longer, and visit Buddy Guys blues club. Had to make do with scaring myself to death in the glass box contraption high up on the Willis tower, but oh, what views. This was our first time in Chicago and we'll definitely be coming back. Best city on the tour so far, by far, for me. Must have one of the best skylines of any city.

The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean, and it was located near many attractions such as the Navy Pier, Lake Michigan, Magnificent Mile and great restaurants. Don't fall for the architecture boat tour they sell you, though the boat company was very knowledgable it was a bit expensive, 40 plus taxes per person which came out to $57 per person. The refreshments and snacks that the boat company provided were water, lemonade and coffee from coolers/ thermos. There are cheaper tours that start at $28...

Room Tip: We got the deal through Expedia and were able to pick king size bed. The walls are thin and you can...

Nice boutique hotel, we will not hesitate to come back. Great location, Magnificent Mile is around the corner. We had 3 rooms, all with good size and nice beds. My only problem was that shower on room 310 is long and the faucet is located at the end, in a way that you can't avoid getting a rush of cold water when you open it.

Room Tip: Avoid room 310 unless you have VERY long arms to open the faucet in the shower (you will get a rush...
