“Amazing stay! But poor wifi”
Reviewed August 29, 2013 via mobile

This was the first time in Chicago and we loved MileNorth except for the weak and sometimes non-existent wifi. The wifi signal was poor in our room, the lobby, and the rooftop patio. Hopefully, this is temporary. Otherwise, the service was great. When we arrived (very late in the day), we were told that there was a flood and we were put in another (very close) hotel (Crowne Plaza) and were not charged for that night at all (saturday night!) We were also give breakfast vouchers for a free breakfast. The next day we were provided with an amazing and very comfortable room (king, city view, like a suite). Room had two steps from the entrance to the living/bedroom so not very accessible. Breakfast menu prerty good and not expensive ($6 parfait, $10 two egg breakfast). View is down one of the streets and is pretty good. Michigan Ave can be seen from the window. Location in the heart of the Magnificent mile with lots of shops and very safe. Walgreens store nearby open 24 hr - super convenient. Pizzerias nearby serving deep dish pizzas and lots of restaurant. Hancock tower nearby with cheesecake factory. River about 10 min away. Stayed 3 nights (2 at MileNorth). Loved it! (Please get better wifi, MileNorth).

I stayed here on a lay over from Atlanta to Heathrow. I chose the hotel in advance based on social reviews, perceived value for money, location and it's Midwestern heritage.

$50 taxi ride from ORD the clean and modern hotel was perfectly located for easy access to the MM and beaches. The staff were helpful and pleasant although the roof bar staff were a little grumpy when i visited.

Wifi is free (big bonus for me) and the room was clean and well presented.

I didn't eat there but i did eat next door at the feverishly popular GinoEast Pizza restaurant (also very good but expect to queue 30 mins for a table).

I loved my one day visit to Chicago and will be returning as soon as possible. The MileNorth will be on my agenda when i do.

Charming hotel in a very nice location. Very modern look & feel to the hotel and the rooms (which I generally like). Hotel is just off Michigan Avenue, so it is easy to walk the town.

My cab from O'Hare managed to miss the hotel the first time down the block, as the hotel's sign was partially obscured by trees, which was somewhat disconcerting. But once we found it, check-in was smooth (a minor hiccup with a voucher for a special offer from their website, but the staff was able to figure this out and correct it).

Hotel room was bright, with a great view. The bed was great. Didn't love the footstool (or whatever it is called) by the window -- it was too large for the space and I stubbed my toe several times trying to walk by it. And while the bathroom was fine, it wasn't great. And the steps from the bed area to the bathroom just seemed strange...don't come home too drunk or you could have some trouble there).

I personally enjoyed Ferris & Jack more than C-View, but if you brought a date then C-View would be worth the extra expensive drinks.

In summary, for the price, location, and slight quirkiness, the hotel was a great value that I would definitely stay at again.

Room Tip: Glad I paid for a view room, Chicago is a town worth looking out at.

The staff was super friendly. Our room was functional and comfortable. The were very dog friendly as well. Our little dog got a care package as soon as we checked into our room which was unexpected but much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

Great new feeling hotel in fantastic location just off north Michigan Avenue. Very clean with fridge in the room. Staff very helpful and quick to fix small problems we had with our first room by moving us to a new room straight away (aircon wasn't working well and curtains got stuck).
One staff member was a little pushy with booking us onto an architectural boat tour that wasn't with the company that we wanted to go with but they did refund us when we questioned it.
Most staff though were very friendly and efficient. I would stay there again.

Great location, just a block from the Mile. Check in went smoothly and all staff were very friendly. Room was clean and spacious, although the bathroom was small. Nice to have an in room safe and sitting area. Fridge was great for left over pizza and to keep beer cool, a microwave would have been helpful, but not necessary. Front check in staff (Dora) more than helpful with restaurant suggestions and getting Cubs tickets. Roof top bar was a nice way to relax after a full day of exploring Chicago. Overall a great experience. We would definitely go back!

This was our first time in Chicago, our stay at the Mile North exceeded our expectations, staff was friendly and extremely helpful, always ready to help in any way they could. Location was ideal, minutes from the water tower and John Hancock building. Would highly recommend it. Very quiet, the CView lounge was lovely. Can't wait to get back to Chicago. Thanks Annie for all your great suggestions.
