Got there after we ran away from a sketchy motel, staff was super helpful, place is exceptionally clean, especially considering the price and crowd...
Great breakfast too.
Crowd is very young.
And the location is absolutely perfect!

This without is probably the most impressive hostel I've ever stayed in. In a way, it's almost like staying in a communal hotel. The place is incredibly clean, with large rooms, large bathrooms and showers and kitchen areas.

In addition to the main communal lounge, dinning room and kitchen, each floor has it's own smaller kitchen and fridge which is across from your room. The wifi is excellent and the speeds really good considering the number of people who would be there.

The free breakfast in the morning is of a really good standard with a range of bagels, toast, orange juice, tea, coffee and cereal. In addition there's free tea and coffee offered 24/7 if you fancy it outside of breakfast.

The staff and security of the hostel are break, with key card access to every entrance, floor and room with large lockers in each. The local of the hostel is impressive a well, with most of the areas in 15-20 minute walking distance and the metro accessable by buying a 'Ventra' card (a bit like a UK Oyster Card).

My only criticism of the place, is to an extent the slightly 'community/communal' living aspect of the hostel is lost through the grand size and more corporate feel of the place. That said of course, it's my far one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.

I got a good deal using Hotwire and I was happy with my stay. Its normal price it is a little bit on the expensive side.

The great thing about this hotel it is location: you are right on the Loop. It was a good experience overall.

Fantastic hostel stayed for 2 nights while visiting Chicago. You are smack bang in the tourist section of Chicago where everything is walking distance if you choose. The rooms were great in size and you had your own little dorm/ seating area which also includes your toilets and bathroom, if you didnt want to go to the big common areas. There is a pool table, ping pong table, internet room and many more little things. There is a huge information area and the hostel itself puts on daily activities. The breakfast is your typical continental but very nice. There is a cafe located downstairs, and Grant park is located 1 block away. You can have secure parking across the street but it is expensive overnight rates of $39. My only gripe is that the guy that checked us in believe his name was Zach was about as friendly as a zombie and completely non helpful.

Great location, helpful staff. Massive Hostel with lots of people. Breakfast has a good variety and facilities are unreal. Beds are more comfortable than my bed at home. Information desks has knowledge of all areas, most rooms have their own shower and toilet. Rooms are wide enough to not be living on top of each other. Only suggestion would be if they trusted visitors to be able to drink alcohol, however all it does is get you out on the town anyway! Very well maintained and managed, if I stay in Chicago I'll always stay here.

This was the excellent hostel. Although there're many dorms in each room, the room was pretty big and clean. There's enough space for everyone to spread things out. The lobby and the community area were comfortable. There're some activities arranged by the hostel almost everyday, but I didn't take part in. There's the locker room that you can use for free if you bring your own lock.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of May. Had a private room which was in a dorm-style set up with 4 private (2 bed rooms) sharing a toilet, shower room, kitchen area and lounge. Worked really well, we felt comfortable leaving our bedroom door open and just hanging out in the suite. Room and suite was clean - shower room was tiny but did the job! The location of the hostel was perfect - we walked everywhere in Chicago! Only a few blocks east to the lake, about a 20 minute walk north up to the Magnificent Mile, and easy to access the Willis Tower which I would definitely recommend!

Only two real gripes otherwise would have been 5*: the Wi-Fi on the 7th floor was pretty non-existent. We couldn't get any signal in the bedroom, could get a tiny signal in the suite but really had to go to the lobby to get any usable internet. However, excellent wi-fi at Panera across the street. Other issue was the lifts - seemed to take at least 3-4 minutes to get a lift up at the 7th floor at busy times which was just slightly irritating. Breakfast was also pretty basic and the queues were huge.

However, overall was very impressed with the hostel - one of the best I've stayed at. The staff were very friendly, the people we met in the hostel were also very nice and would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: 7th floor - very quiet but really poor Wi-Fi.
