This is a great hotel if you are attending at conference at the McCormick Place. Easy and refreshing 1 1/2 mile walk to the conference center. You can also hop on the #3 bus and be there in a few minutes. Easy access to the L to get to Midway- $2.25 to the airport versus $30 in a taxi. Station is just around the corner but no noise from the L. Five Guys burgers, Starbucks and Trader Joe's also just around the corner. The restaurant that is part of the hotel is also very nice. This is also very close to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Soldier Field. Very short walk through the park. I would definitely stay here again.

Being located on S Michigan Av, it is an ideal spot to explore the city or to visit a Bear game, both in walking distance. The interior of rooms is of average quality. There was, however, a gigantic A/C fan on the ground, which was extremely noisy and could not be turned off (pressing 'off' resulted in blowing cold air periodically, even at nighttime). Placed only a meter away from my head, I could not have one good sleep during the whole stay.

The one redeeming aspect of this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is reasonably priced (amongst the cheapest in the region). It is an older building, but with clean interiors and good room service. However, environmentalists should prepare for a shock - The rooms are heated by fan heaters which are very noisy. The windowed walls are very thin, so, in winter, if you place your hands on them, it is very cold. Additionally, the extractor fans are kept on continuously (noisy at night). So what you essentially have is a fan heater heating the air next to permanently cold wall, then an extractor fan promptly removes the heated air from the room, with barely enough time for the room to heat up.
There is a good restaurant downstairs (Mia restaurant, which serves a variety of dishes, all reasonably priced). Service in the restaurant is very good.
The hotel is across from Grant park, so in summer, this is a short walk. Shedd aquarium and the Field museum (both worth visiting) are within walking distance (1 mile or so)

It is hard to figure out where to park to check in (use the side street) and the sign for the hotel is too high to see well. No breakfast offered at this hotel and parking is $12 I believe. The room was not bad. Clean, VERY comfortable bed and all workers were extremely friendly. You can't beat the location or the price considering it is Chicago. They said they are going to remodel. Once they do it will really rock! The restaurant is outstanding!! I do recommended this hotel.

Good location with friendly staff. Slightly overpriced/undersized, but it works! Good access to trains, museums, parks, and even car rental. No breakfast, but restaurant on main level is decent. Rooms are small, but everything worked.

A basic value hotel near all the main attractions in Chicago. The large rooms are a bit dated but have everything you need for a pleasant stay. The only downside is the fact that the in room heating is a fan system operated by a thermostat. Its extremely noisy and turns itself off and on as the temperatures changes. Once you get used to this, or buy some earplugs, you'll be perfectly comfortable!

Room Tip: Maybe ask if they have any updated rooms which dont have such noisy heating systems.

Poorly maintained property. The shower curtains stink and have probably not been washed in ages. The floor carpets are worn out and dirty. There is not a single water fountain in the building except the one in the gym on the third floor. The internet access is sketchy and low speed. There is poor lighting in the room. The bulbs in the room are all dimmed out and need to be replaced.
