“Love the city, but won't stay here again...”

Arrived by driver from Airport on Thursday, 5/2/13 and they had no reservation in my name.
Trip was prepaid through Jet Blue Getaways! Called JetBlue and there was no mistake on
their end, so off we go to the game. My husband and son had shorts on and sweatshirts. It
was windy and chilly and they were unable to change in our room, because we had not
been able to check in! So went to the Cub's game... Get back to the hotel and our bags were still being held and they found our reservation and we went to the room. It only had 1 king bed, so we had to call down and get the room with 2 beds instead. It was my family of 4. They finally got it right, and offered us 4 free drink tickets, and use of the gym for our trouble! Wish the beds were queens! Onsite restaurant too expensive! Next time will stay where there are bigger beds, and for go the suite style room. Great location! Wildberry's for Breakfast!

Room Tip: Were on the 36th floor, great view, suite with two bathrooms.

SO I was at a meeting recently held at this hotel. It really is a nice hotel. Nice view, really nice staff, great location, but other than that it just wasn't that special for the price. Everything was just really overpriced. The cocktails were good, but again, overpriced. I bought some advil at their little kiosk and the little travel tube was more than 7 dollars. Now I know its going to be pricier, but still, 7 buck is ridiculous.

But like I said, nice staff, very clean, but that is really it for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Swissotel. The view from my room was amazing and the staff friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent for seeing all the attractions that Chicago has to offer. My son was married at The East Bank Club and everything was wonderful. Highly recommend staying at this hotel. Very clean and the gym facilities were beyond what I expected.

The hotel is vertically oriented and they know how to add touches of modern luxury throughout. The room was spacious, the bathroom was elegant but missing a make-up mirror (hotels need to view this as a bathroom staple!) and very clean. Loved the view of Navy Pier and waking up to spectacular sunrises on the lake. Centrally located with above and below ground walkways. Walks along the lake are a great way to work off the outstanding food at the Palm.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room with a view of the Navy Pier. Get the king room - the little extra gives you a...

I felt it was a nice hotel, but very highly priced. The service was not top notch as the price suggested. We found the Hyatt next door had a great bar/lounge and more resonable. It may not be a posh, but I didn't feel pampered at the Swiss. No one was even there to take our luagage from the airport transportation. I mean, that is just the most basic hotel perk. The Palm resteraunt was good and worth the $ and the fitness center is excellent in the Swiss, so it has it's plus marks. It left me felling very on the fence and that is why I gave three for "Average".

The beginning and the end of my stay were both very enjoyable. People look at you and make eye contact. They converse with you. I feel engage. They see you again the following days and they remember. No longer you are an object.
