We were in Chicago for the July 4th weekend and i got to stay in Fairmont for $100/night. The hotel is a gold standard for business travelers. The lobby is busy but clean. The front desk & bell boys are always on attention & extremely professional. The rooms are good size. We got one with a view to the lake. The room was cleaned every day. Overall, a good experience.

The areas of caution - overpricing on multiple charges. $62/night to park your car is VERY VERY high. The aon center parking next door charges $32. The breakfast buffet at $29/head is overpriced.

I will stay in the Fairmont next time as well. Just need to remember to find good deal a few days before.

Room Tip: Look for deals at least a couple of weeks before travel. Plan to park your car in Aon Center than s...

My wife and I paid for 5 rooms for a total of 19 nights at this hotel in late-June 2013 for our son's wedding. Other than a hassle at check-in, our experience was first class. As an example of the detailed perfection, after one visit to the front desk to ask a routine question, the clerk knew my name for the next 5 days. Amazing and typical for all employees.

Our suite was spacious and immaculate. The housekeeping staff was perfectly tolerant of our needs with babies and hectic schedules.

We also appreciated the car that was available to shuttle us to nearby places in the city.

Great place. Don't even think about it; book it.

Room Tip: We had a suite that was perfect!

Even though it has been two years, I could not forget the taste of the room I enjoyed. Great view, great rooms, everything is clean and room size is very large.
Hotel location is at the city center.
I stayed at winter so the prices were proper, but at summer it is pricey.
Definitely worths..

My husband and I stayed here on the Saturday after the 4th of July. Although we had a late check-in, we were still able to get a room on the 23rd floor with a nice view! The staff were very pleasant! We didn't choose to park our car overnight at the Fairmont because the $62/night was a bit pricey, but the valet let us keep our car there while we went to check in. We were away for quite a bit because we sat in our room for a bit before going back down. Staff always smiled and asked us if we needed taxi service or needed help with directions. The furniture in the room was very nice, white leather for everything - even the tissue box and foot bench by the bed. Very classic. Bathrooms were very clean and not dirty, everything was spotless. My one complaint was that the shower has a very loud and constant whirring sound. Other than that, excellent. I'd definitely stay again.

Fairmonts have rightly earned a good reputation. This one could use some help. The layout of the room was very inconvenient, with the closet and bathroom being down the hall and around the corner from the sleeping area. There was no dresser for clothing although there was what looked to be a small sofa with a cushioned top and two large drawers but in order to access them it was necessary to get on one's knees! The bathroom had a large gap between the chrome pipe from the commode and the wall which was crusted and dusty. The service and the dining were good and the staff friendly. Their strength is their location which, along with other excursions, made it easy to see the fireworks on the 4th.

Room Tip: A high floor in the tower has a limited view of the river but you can see lots of buildings!

Not what I was expecting for a 4 star hotel. I would not want to stay at this Fairmont again. The furniture in the room was outdated and scrapped up. The tv was nice and newer but kind of out of place because it was so big. We had double beds but they had to be full size because they were so small. The mattresses also seemed like they needed to be turned over or something because you would sink into them (and not in a good way). Our room was pretty much out of toliet paper when we got our room. The good things... the hotel lobby is nice.

Very disorganized staff at the front desk check in/out. House keeping didn't even come to clean my room until I complained about it. The hotel is old and worn out, needs an upgrade. Carpet is dirty and walls in the hallway are all banged up, not what I expected for a Fairmont. I would recommend staying elsewhere for the price. Also no pool, and they charge $10 to use the pool at another hotel.

Room Tip: Stay at the Radisson instead
