I fly into Midway on business regularly, and prefer to stay near the airport rather than near my client's downtown offices. This hotel is definitely one of the best Midway options. But, I have a few issues with it:
> So quickly this hotel has lost its freshness. I've had this before with the hotels at the Midway Hotel Center. They build them beautifully, but don't maintain them so well.
> I like to take the L train downtown, and taking the shuttle from the hotel to the airport's L station takes too long. It can more than double my commute compared to staying at a hotel near the L, like the Carlton Inn Midway.
> Sometimes I will rent a car while in Chicago, and it bothers me that they charge for parking. They are not a downtown property, so it feels a bit nervy.
All in all it is still a great choice, especially if you don't intend to use the CTA train. And, it is great to see that the neighborhood is developing and that more choices are available for food than just a year or two ago. It is possibly the only hotel in the Midway area with downtown standards, although for the reasons I mentioned above that doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best choice.More
